I think there are some developers that deserve our trust like larian, obsidian etc.

1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

At least they're not going early access, which is a good thing in my book. Not sure about the publisher, though, but if they're willing to fund it... But I still have trust in this project (albeit also the last one I'm backing on kickstarter), a 6 to 12 month delay is ok if the result is good. I've played too many half finished games lately, so I frankly don't care having to wait a bit longer.

@Mikey5449

I'm kind of half and half on EA right now, I'm starting to feel much the same as Morph; EA/KS are very much the same and have given us some fantastic games but they're being abused too much lately. I've got "early access" games on my Steam list that have been EA for YEARS. I'm getting tired of it. Now we have AAA games like Star Citizen also following the same "we'll never be finished-finished, we'll be in development forever!" as if that's a good thing.

So yeah, right now I'm kind of torn on it. What makes it worse is that rather than being held to task, developers who overspend or overshoot or announce massive delays ... get praised and thanked and encouraged. It's very Facepalm

Maybe, but then look at Larian too... they overshot their budget, overshot their release dates, then had to cut out large parts of their announced product. This wasn't even some tiny indy dev either, it's someone with decades of experience and successful games under their belt. Thankfully D:OS is a magnificent game regardless, but still.

Domains @perihelioninteractive.com don't work anymore. At this point, I am throwing the towel in. The project is indeed dead.

Looks like you are correct unfortunately. The below is the relevant section from their legal filings in Luxembourg where they were registered:

Extract for publication

End of domiciliation agreement

Concerning: Perihelion Interactive Sarl

Limited liability company
B192315
The domiciliataire Executive management sàrl (Seems to be their legal firm, they appear on a lot of companies), announces the fact that the domiciliation agreement and the agreement and the obligations arising therefrom ceasing from the date of filing of the denunciation in the Trade and Companies Register, namely 30/06/2017.

To be honest this is only making clear what has been expected for quite some time. The only chance of The Mandate seeing light of day now is for the rights to be bought up by a third party who go on to develop the game.

However with the dissolution of Perihelion Sarl there is pretty much no chance of any Kickstarter pledges being binding. The investment is gone and there is no legal recourse to be had, regardless of how you approach it.

A shame there was no formal annoucement and I am surprised the forums are still active. The chat appears to be unresponsive again and there is nothing to gain from the forums being maintained. The mods had been hoping to be able to take control and turn it into a general fan site feeding off the background that was built. We shall see but I am half expecting to log on one morning to find nothing remains.

took em what,4 years, to blow trough 700k? not bad,sad the game won´t see the light of day but at least the "developers" had years of smack, hookers and horseraces,eh? Sad

i really, really have the urge to do a "kickstarter project" aswell. Lie trough my bad teeth, wear a beard like that dude from NoMansSky and promise heaven and beyond to everyone. after that, flee to cuba and never deliver

lol I forgot all about this. This is why I've never trusted kickstarter and after the Fiasco with Ark, especially with their 160 dollar collectors edition, I'll never buy another EA game again.

I backed this with 5$ to follow its progress. For about a year I was sure this won't see the light of the screen.

I backed it at the lowest cost to get the game.. haven't backed any KS projects in years, they've all been shit, maybe 1 in 20 has been decent.
