WTF

I am dusting my setup often. We don't have any pets. The flat and is new ffs(so is most of the setup) Laughing

Monitor is iiyama xb2483hsu-b2. I have it for over a year with no bugs until now Laughing

How did the little fucker got in there?! How am I going to get him out!? He must be stuck between plastic part and matrix. In the video he is sometimes behind the mouse pointer but this is only effect of video for some reason. The bug is always on first "plane".

its called sand flies. its a production failure, those things cant go there. if you still have warranty -> send it back!

if you are out of warranty -> DONT TOUCH THE SCREEN WHERE THE THING IS!!!!

put the monitor into a dark room and a bright lamp next to it as only light source. wait 24 hours, with a bit of luck the sand fly crawls out and the problem is gone

you must be joking right? Should I send the screen back to iiyama and tell them there is a bug inside ?

I need to check my warranty... Iiyama have life warranty for pixels. not sure if this counts.

How would it show so late after buying the screen

Lol wtf! It's possible it crawled through a small gap between the bezel and panel. Do as Janz said and try to lure it out with a light. Otherwise you should have 2 more years of warranty with iiyama.

How do I do this warranty thing? I never sent anything for warranty. I bought the screen directly from iiyama store

Send email with description and video/photos of problem. That's how I did it when I discovered a speck of dust under my panel. They sent a guy over with a new monitor and he took my old one. Didn't have to do a thing Laughing I don't know if their service is as good in Poland though. But try to lure the insect out first.

i mean there are still other problems with the screen but not warranty worthy

@KillerCrocker
From where you bought the monitor?
Might be easier and faster to contact the seller for warranty.

iiyama directly. At least their polish site. I already sent them email but the little bug is now gone Laughing

Maybe at least they will replace the monitor. There is line coming across the whole screen in the middle anyway. Visible only on white background. It was there since beginning but it's annoying sometimes.

Thats notin', I took apart my old ide drive many years back and there was two or three little white bugs. Must have been viruses so I ran a firewall(literal, with deodorant and lighter) on them, so they won't spread to my actual drives Very Happy

for the vertical line?
It wasn't annoying enough and only visible on pure white. Not a big deal... but if they will be willing to replace it now - why not.

I am just not sure if I should tell them tomorrow (if they will answer) that little bug is gone and vertical line is the only problem. In the warranty email I told about line problem and bug problem.
I could always be surprised and say that bug was still there when I was sending it

We PC gamers love bugs so much that we even adopt them Very Happy

My father's ancient LCD monitor has had two of those nasty companions roaming around in the middle of the screen for weeks, until one day they just disappeared. For all I know they may have dramatically perished in one of the borders, but as long as they don't show up, all is well. Laughing Just absolutely don't touch the monitor, a small pressing and you have a free permanent pixel tattoo. Best of luck!

Nice.

Looks like Iiyama got me a new screen!

At least there is no longer a bug and no vertical line... and the dust is gone... and serial number is new and time in service menu shows "0" when I had it at 2976 hours before.
