The trailer link above is dead so here is the official one.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
I really dont get the design choices. I mean they could have at least used the JJTrek uniforms, if they wanted a more modern design. If this is set 10 years before Kirk and Spock, it means the Enterprise is already in service for 10 years, so why do they need a totally different uniform design?
I'm willing to give this a try, but it seems to me that we're in for a third Trek timeline.

Seems to be what I expected. Not Star Trek... don't really care for what the captain has between his, her or its legs though. It just looks too flashy/plastic for my idea of Star Trek.
They can't even be arsed to make the timeline somewhat plausible. Shame really, I would have liked a decent Star Trek instead of re-watching the same material.
What's going around is that they are not the Klingons we know, these are ancient ones woken up from cryo and see the Federation as an invasion force. But yeah, design could have been better.
They're now monsters from Buffy the vampire slayer.

The male actors all seem fine. The female actors ... dear fucking lord. It's one thing to want female characters at the front but at least pick ones that don't sound more wooden than Pinokkio's dick!
Other than that, the Klingons do look better than the ridiculous pictures we saw before but they really did dial them up to 11, didn't they? They clearly wanted them to be a real menace but in doing so, they also utterly destroyed what the Klingon's were about - there lore shows they were far more than just warriors but the warriors basically killed off the other castes including the artists, doctors, scientists, etc.
Oh beloved ST w/o the agendaization BS .. where out thou?!
TOS was pretty fucking PC for its time.

What Trek shows did you watch?

This pic is the only thing I've seen so far that I like.
Also, the season will be split in two, TWD-style:
Quote:
15-Episode Season Will Roll Out in Two Chapters: The First 8 Episodes Will Run from Sunday, Sept. 24 Through Sunday, Nov. 5; Second Chapter to Resume January 2018
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
I wish it was more about exploring space and unknown and less about personal fucking drama. That shlock Orvill had me more interested because of it than this with pewpew explosions and OMG so much feels.
