My brain has unfortunately stopped remembering passwords so I need a manager. Anyone know a good free password manager?
I don't need more(unless there is something important I should know?) than a nice layout with the abillity to write comments at each entry.

Thanks.

+1 for KeePass. Throw your .kdbx file into DropBox/GoogleDrive and you have it synced between all your devices.

I also looked into LastPass, but they had some security issues in the past, and with KeePass I am responsible for the security of my password database, not some other company.

And getting into the habit of using it to manage passwords takes a few days, but now it always makes me very happy creating a new account somewhere with a 20+ character random password, knowing a hack of that particular site will never compromise any of my other accounts on other sites.

Yup, what i'm using and doing too. But not to synch between different devices so much, as more to have a backup in the cloud.

Obviously i'm using a keyfile + master password. Keyfile is only store locally and backed up on a few different devices.

using Enpass

works completely offline, and can be hooked to many cloudservices including owncloud/webdav stuff etc. just suits me better than keepass which isnt bad either

KeePass, obviously.

Free, good, and most imporantly the best platform support (all OS, all devices).

No "accounts" or "cloud based" services, just offline/local encrypted files.

Although you can ofc couple it independently with GoogleDrive or Dropbox like most people do for automatic synchronization.

+1 using it across Android, osx, windows, iPhone and Linux at the moment. A nice advantage in windows and Linux is the autotype / macro functionality.

Forget Keepass 1.x.

Instead maybe try out KeePassXC: https://keepassxc.org/project

It's a cross-platform fork of KeePass, with some more features. Like Yubikey support. Also looks a bit more modern than Keepass 2.x.
