@prudislav @3E74
So it just means you host a cracked server, and everyone (warez + legit) can join it?
Or will you also be able to join legit servers with this release? Shocked

HOW TO PLAY COOP:
You will need the original steam_api64 dll file, that can be found here: [removed] that can be found in the crack folder.
1, Copy over the cracked files to the Sniper Elite 4 folder
2, edit stp-steam.ini
2-a, AppId=480 -it must be 480
2-b, AccountId=xxxxxxxx -this is your steam accountid that can be found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata folder
3, start up the game with these edited parameters in the ini file. it's going to generate a denuvo hardware key for that specific steam userid and steam appid
4, once the game is loaded up, exit the game.
5, now rename the cracked steam_api64.dll to something like steam_api64.dll_STP -just in case you will need it in the future-
6, copy the original steam_api64.dll to the folder where the launchers (stp-se4dx11/dx12) can be found
7, create a text document in that folder called 'steam_appid.txt', open it, write down '480', save the document, make it read-only.
8, start the game while you are logged in to your steam profile, the one you specified in the stp-steam.ini
9, invite your friend and play

Great game. Very tired of the nazi theme but doesn't bother me in this game. Playing on authentic from the start and had to get used to the sniping. Now it's very rewarding landing those long range shots without any help. Only problem is finding objectives but it also makes me explore the whole map which is a lot of fun.

I played the first island on hard (one below authentic) and found it too easy, what with tagged enemies always visible, objective markers, hand holding etc.

Just started again on authentic, and it's a much better experience.

Excellent game.

Yea even on authentic it's still pretty easy. Can even run and gun most of the times and enemies don't really do much more than finding cover and popping their heads up.

Still I am having fun with it and thats rare these days with games. Love hitting those long range shots.

Is this more similar to SE 3 rather than 2? I much preferred the latter, 3 was just plain garbage.

Bigger more open environments and non-linear progression with very wide open paths that the player can progress through in whatever way they want whether stealth or full action.

AI unless you're playing at a higher difficulty level will usually not be especially bright though even for hostile snipers (The ones that might actually spot you from a further away distance.) and even when they spot you their aim is pretty poor and their focus on using that one single ladder or whatever to reach you makes for obvious and over simplified kill zones.

Various collectibles and side objectives also present themselves though I do not think it affects the missions much at all from what I remember at least outside of the usual achievement thing and of course ranking up and getting more gear upgrades which is slightly changed from SE3 so now you have to earn XP per weapon by doing certain accolades or what to call them and then you get that particular upgrade, no more scavenging some Nazi's pockets for bronzed, silver or gilded rifle parts that curiously increase one stat and generally decrease another. (With the DLC stuff being all unlocked from the get-go and generally overpowered, which I don't think has changed here either.)

Not sure what the eff the stats are based on, certainly isn't realism at least ha ha.

I think there's about 7 -8 missions in total so similar to SE3 again but some are even larger this time, bit more detail on that X-Ray feature too now but it works pretty much the same on both human and vehicle targets though there's X-Ray melee now.

Just have to actually get the dead bodies to somewhat match said damage for the next game, those chunky bits from SE1 are nowhere to be found but apparently this red little splotch mark denotes the targets skull was obliterated into tiny fragments, both eyes punctured and teeth scattered everywhere with the brain exiting through the back via a large hole. Eh I guess they can't go too brutal due to ratings either and you're not exactly supposed to up and personal every dead body you leave behind.

Doesn't really affect the game much, and anyways yeah it's closer to 3 than 2 from what I would say. Smile

EDIT: While rare to get a kill shot / x-ray of some of these shots it was actually possible to severe things like fingers or kneecaps in Sniper Elite 2, pretty sure the "Through the scope." type kills were only for SE3 and later though.

There's a bigger selection of gear as well although it takes a while to get the XP for ranking up and unlocking some of it but the starting stuff is more than serviceable and nothing really prevents you from grabbing the enemy soldiers weapons in the field when going through a level though if you primarily use the sniper rifle unless things go completely tits up or how it's called there's not all that much of a difference to them. (Zoom is a bit varied and of course the semi automatic variant is a bit weaker in most other stats to compensate.)

I noticed I didn't say much about the story but it's a bit of a throwback to just letting the player sandbox his way through the various environments similar to SE3, it does pop up now and again though in some shorter cutscenes involving radar tech, resistance members and our hero seemingly fighting the Italian Nazi forces all on his own though you are probably in a couple of different places than where the main fighting takes place to explain that.
(And the first level of SE3 where you "had" - of sorts. - active AI soldiers on your side became a bit of a clusterfuck until you broke away from them and handled things solo anyway. Very Happy Well about five minutes into the tutorial that said level also doubled as. Ha ha. )

Patch 1.5.0

DEATHSTORM PART 3: OBLITERATION is the final chapter in a new three-part campaign for SNIPER ELITE® 4, taking fans back to World War 2 Germany for the first time since SNIPER ELITE® V2 in 2012.

It's in the Bavarian town of Steigerloch, in the heartland of Germany, where the abominable nuclear project known as Deathstorm is being researched. A heavily guarded underground complex is rumoured to lie hidden beneath the sleepy town's hilltop church, with suspicious vehicle activity suggesting the Nazis are planning something big - and soon. Elite agent Karl Fairburne must draw on all his skills to neutralize the facility and bring Deathstorm down, once and for all.

By Popular Demand

Players can now select custom reticles for their rifle scopes.
Add “Clear All Collectibles” and “Clear Level Collectibles” to the Service Record for players wishing to reset and replay missions.
Add ability to select wind strength from within the Shooting Range level.
Add an option to remember the zoom level when entering scope/binoculars.

New Content

New survival map (Facility), FREE to all owners of the game and playable in both solo-survival and up to 4-player co-op.

Some difficulty options have been changed to support this as the equivalent of “Authentic” difficulty can now be created from Custom options (e.g., Authentic Suppressors has become Authentic Attachments to control scope zoom as well as suppressor noise).
Custom Difficulty now has some extended options.
AI Aggression will make the AI never give up searching once alerted if set to Authentic Plus.
Authentic Suppressors has now become Authentic Attachment. It will make
Suppressed shots still make some noise, and also limit the zoom level of Scopes and Binoculars. Any old saves with this enabled will now also limit the zoom level.
Player Toughness will now disable Character Skills and Weapon Upgrades if set to Authentic or Authentic Plus. Any old saves will retain whether they had Character Skills and Weapon Upgrades enabled/disabled.
Save Option allows the save types available to be set.
Increased maximum player rank to 250.
Six new Axis character skins from Deathstorm that can be unlocked for use in Multiplayer.

Singleplayer

Tagging hats and binoculars dropped by AI no longer tags the AI that dropped them.
Various fixes to make the neunfaust less awkward to use.
Fix various machine guns stuttering when firing from hip.
Artillery spotters no longer slide around while firing their flare.
Vehicles in convoy should wait until the vehicle in front is fully destroyed before resuming their route to avoid getting caught in the final explosion, and vehicles should never start moving if their driver is dead.
Multiple bug fixes to campaign and multiplayer levels

Multiplayer

Various capture-the-flag fixes to prevent flag pickup from appearing inside geometry or sliding around the level.
Fire should now cause damage to players in headshots-only mode.
Vehicle collisions should now kill incapacitated players in co-op.

I had a blast playing through this in multiplayer - however, the really was no use trying to be sneaky as if you failed once pretty much everyone on the map would come running to you. So basically, you can stay at one spot and just chainkill everyone Very Happy

I'm surprised this game gets so little attention. I won it last year in a contest but for some reason never picked it up.

A week ago I was in the mood for some sniping and got blown away by this game. It does nearly everything spot on - this feels a bit like Deus Ex but with a sniping rifle - you can tackle situations in quite a few ways, pick the routs you want, different vantage points, different tools (traps, rifle, smg, silenced gun). It's a bit easy even on hard if you play tactically but I'm having an immense blast playing this.
