PostPosted: Fri, 7th Jul 2017 15:26    Post subject: Fucked rear of my old car -> new car
- I have an Opel Corsa C since some years
- Some weeks ago i decided to put on tinted foil on the back windows myself
- back side windows went pretty good
- rear window looked like shit, because of the bulge
- to afterwards shrink the foil in form on the edges, i ordered a heat gun
- it didn't really help much anymore, as there were already too many wrinkles on it
- so then i decided to just scrap off the foil again, and think of another solution
- in that process i damaged the rear window heating, as it wasn't working anymore
- ordered some silver lacquer to repair the interruptions of the heat circuits on the window
- after measuring today to find the interruptions, it turns out i pretty much destroyed all of the rear window heat circuits
- i thought only the visible copper lanes were responsible for the voltage and heating up. Turns out it is the black surface (probably graphite?), which i scrapped of most of the parts when removing the foil Laughing

Bad news, i will get probably much less money for the car now.
Good news, i have a good reason to get a new car very soon, before winter comes. Very Happy
Wanted to buy a new one anyways, as i need more power and a fucking air conditioner.

Thanks for reading.

I don't even know why i often fuck up in those scenarios. As i always read and watch enough tutorials till i'm confident that i would suceed.

But i really enjoy doing that DIY stuff.
It just feels good when once in a while your idea turns out as a sucess.

When one thinks about it, the title 'fucked rear of my car' along with all the sexual innuendos are a bit suspicious indeed. The explanation is plausible, but what if...things went differently Shifty Fellar
