Yep! And it still holds up pretty well too technically speaking, thanks to the great art-style. I've recently replayed it with the widescreen fix, just as enjoyable as the first time. The only nuisance is the fov which is a bit too narrow (and alas, can't be tweaked), though it's definitely not a big deal.
Destructoid's source continues to insist it's an NX exclusive. In fact they say it's not even a sequel, it's an enhanced retelling of the original game, set for Summer 2018.
Well if it's a "console exclusive" (we don't know what phrasing they will use) perhaps it can appear on PC.. some day.

It's going to be a 1-year Switch exclusive and then PC/PS4/XB1 ports will follow.

I'd be very disappointed if it turns out to be a remake.
True. This game don't need a remake at all. It looks great today thanks to its art style. Maybe just modern hardware compatibility patch

Beyond Good & Evil 2 won’t be present at E3 2017, may be revealed later this year

I'd be mad if this was 10 years ago, but realistically, I wasn't really waiting for a sequel anymore, so this abomination, with the beyond good and evil name slapped on for extra sales, doesn't even faze me, most likely won't play it anyway.

Just avoid AAA gaming like the rest of us allrdy does, there are plenty of interesting games from indies or other lower tier developers.
