The helicopter's crashing is surprisingly well done. I've been waiting for something like this in an online shooter for ages. Ghost Recon Wildlands had something similar.

Shame the helicopter controls in that game were so fucking awful. Did they ever get around to fixing that?

Small heads up, there's a Free week-end going on
Might jump in again (if my ghetto internet lets me) to see if some of the old annoyances have been fixed, and for the vintage accidental "sorry"-powered teamkilling simulator

I tried to get into it again recently - it makes for a very difficult initial five or six hours as you "get back into the groove" so to speak - lots of dying. and cursing. and team-killing. But, if you can stick it out until it "clicks", it's definitely a smoother experience now than it was during the first few weeks after launch.
They fixed a lot of the collision jankiness. Tweaked some weapon values (don't worry, you still die instantly ), and added a separate chopper control binding section (mostly).

Holy napalm, you're right about the first impact, at the moment it is brutal and 'patience of a saint' should be among the minimum requirements. Thankfully there's an influx of padawans like me as well who make up for the veterans, eventually I managed to rack up some nice kills and Ramboing despite being murdered hundreds of times in a few hours.
There's still some trademark roughness in the animations and pop-in, but it definitely feels more polished than before, the performance is also considerably more consistent as well for me (it would stutter like hell, now there are only a few framerate drops on High-Ultra hybrid/1080p - nothing too serious though), another few months and it'll be ready! (...hoping that the user base won't drop too dramatically, but there's always a bundle around the corner to save us).

Always remember the golden rules of Rising Storm games: when in doubt, camp. when you have no doubts, camp anyway. if you happen to hear a chopper coming, camp inside a building, because anyone camping outside will soon die.
If you ignore these golden rules and try to advance or move in any way (no matter whether your team is on attack or defense) you will soon find your life ending to someone who was obeying them and camping like they should have been.

Played for 2 hours, it's a lot of fun, and the pace seems faster compared to RO2/RS.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I've been playing it since the beginning and it's a really fun game. They ironed out a lot of bugs, and added new maps and weapons since then. And more is on the way. It's a niche game, but it's good.
