It's been 12 months now. 12 months of mere survival.

  • LEAD A TEAM
Become leader and provider as you guide a team of 4 survivors towards your story's conclusion. Utilize their unique skills and make key decisions as you work to stay alive.
  • THE VOID
A harsh, winter environment that covers a derelict underworld. Witness dynamic weather conditions and time-of-day settings that directly affect gameplay and stats.

  • STORY EVENTS
Forge your own story. From solving team dilemmas to random events: your decisions will make each playthrough completely unique. Who will survive your adventure?
  • AKO-LIGHT
Inspired by fictional droids like R2D2 and Wall-E, Ako-Light is your trusty robotic companion. Ako-Light's many functions can be used to explore the derelict world, and upgrades will improve functionality.
  • STAT-DRIVEN DESIGN
Your team will get cold, hungry, tired and bored just like you. Dynamic, stat-driven behavior means each NPC character will react independently - with their own wants, needs and emotions.

Interesting.

I noticed just the one guy, Jakob was outside scavenging/exploring; I hope it isn't like State of Decay where the Player is the only person actually doing anything at all. If the NPCs actually do stuff, or go out exploring too that'd be cool

Eh, gameplay and story could be interesting.

But that main char looks like some crazy fuck to me: Upper body of a strong bear, lower bottom chicken legs. Laughing

You see this style pretty often in European comics.

But yeah, winter landscape. Laughing

delayed

Quote:
Initially planned to be released on April 12th, Impact Winter will be released on May 23rd digitally on STEAM! Help will have to wait a little longer!

This will give you more time to pre-order the PC Digital version and get the exclusive soundtrack created by composer Mitch Murder!

Stuart Ryall, Co-Founder and Designer at Mojo Bones, explains the reasons for this short slippage:

“Unfortunately IMPACT WINTER will now release a little later than expected, hitting Steam on 23rd May 2017. Why the delay? Well, the truth is, IMPACT WINTER has become a LOT bigger than we first expected: a pretty complex beast with lots of different systems and mechanics. Everything is in place, but one of our main priorities in the run up to release has been making sure that the initial stages of the game aren’t too overwhelming and that the overall experience is evenly balanced. Given the scope of the project and our team size it’s taking a little longer than expected. Ultimately, it’s all in aid of giving everyone the best experience possible which is the No.1 priority. On the flip side, we’ve had some really positive feedback from our playtest sessions and the game is shaping up to be something unique, and definitely a lot more than we envisioned all those years ago.”

We thank you for your patience, and see you in the Void on May 23rd!

User reviews
OVERALL:
Mostly Negative (25 reviews)
Release Date: 23 May, 2017

Not saying 25 user reviews is a surefire indicator of another bland game released on Steam, but we'll see how it develops.

most of the reviews are so far just rants about the PC controls issuess and various bugs semirelated to that ... didnt really found much about the gameplay itself in those reviews ... and those that do say the environment and soundtrack is great and playing on gamepad is fun

Will check again after some patches I guess

Impact Winter patches delivery roadmap

Hi Impact Winter Survivor,

We have heard your concerns and they will be taken into account as quickly as we can.
Here are the updates we are planning for the coming days and weeks:

VERY SHORT TERM OBJECTIVES (by Thursday 25th of May)

Improvement of Keyboard and Mouse controls
o Mouse support in menus and in the game.
o Remapping and improvement of controls, including mouse
Removal of the launcher (the launcher has no real use and is confusing for a lot of you).

SHORT TERM OBJECTIVES (within 1 or 2 weeks)
Continuous improvements of Keyboard and Mouse controls, taking into account your feedback. We also want to implement several keyboard / mouse configuration layouts.
We have found a way to cut loading times by half, but this requires proper testing to make sure it doesn’t impact some areas of the game. We will release this as soon as possible.
Support of localized keyboards (Azerty, etc.)

MEDIUM TERM OBJECTIVES (within 3 or 4 weeks)
    Implementation of custom Key binding.

Mojo Bones and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe teams are working around the clock to make sure we’ll stick to this plan.
Obviously, we’ll also continue to fix remaining bugs and improve different areas of the game as a long term support for this game. We’ll also continue to take into account your feedback at the best of our capacity.
Be assured that we’ll keep you posted about the content of patches regularly and about our updated plans.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to bring you a smooth Impact Winter experience as soon as possible.

Best regards,
Mojo Bones & Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe

Just tried it, not touching it again until the control scheme is fixed, m+kb is completely useless as reported.

Zero effort has been made to make it workable, pretty amazing when launching on steam.

I know its Bandai namco but still

Same goes for fuelling the furnace lol
