You need a special security rig (which is not the same as armor, you wear rig under the armor and it determines the amount of implant slots you have, by now you should have already upgraded your rig once). You will find security rig as you progress (much) further into the game (as part of the main quest so to speak).

@Bob Barnsen Nope, you'll get the security-grade rig after killing the 4th boss.

Interesting. I just killed him, got the v2.0 axe, and the full set of his armor. Are you sure you got the V2.0 variant of the weapon? Maybe you need to meet the requirement for the full set of armor.

I did get the v2.0 axe and only the hands for cutting them off. Another piece of Black Cerberus set can be taken later on in the game from a guard. On NG+ there is some guy wielding some Black Cerberus pieces of armor right after the first door, but the targeting system betrayed me.

I finished the game, there seems to be multiple endings and I got the "good" one. Beware, the game goes straight to NG+.
Anyone else finished it? Because I did miss something in the last zone (which is a labyrinthine hell). On the second floor (refueling) there is an elevator that leads to a train. What location that trains opens up?

Yes, you'll open a gate back to the main (2nd) map (the objective of the RnD map is basically to get the hell outta there Smile ).

Those "terminators" (exactly how I called them myself Smile) appear close to the end of the R&D level. Afterwards there are 2 more levels (and some optional backtracking to previous levels if you feel so inclined). So you finished more than half of the game.

That train goes back to level 2, you might recall seeing an empty train station there at some point guarded by 2 security guards.

Getting sometimes instant gibbed by 1-2 hits.

And then you have some minibosses in between the fight with killer damage too.

Oh, thanks!

I did some internet research and apparently I did miss a bunch of things. For example the Black Cerberus armor can be gained all at once if you beat the boss in a particular way.

He's not really that hard. You hit him 1-2 times with a fast weapon after each combo. For the mech you just do the legs tricks and its piss easy.

I feel so ashamed, but i just had to use a trainer for infite health for this. I'm really not in the mood to waste more time on him because i suck. Embarassed Sad
Also the mech kept hitting me behind him with his blades, wtf.

Also to get the full armor set of him, you have to let the PAX unit destroy those two white silos with his rockets:

Without cheats i would have died countless more times trying to pull that off, as i often got hit by the first rocket, which stunlocked me for the next 2. Laughing

And finished.
I'm glad it's finally over and i didn't bought it back then. As the frustation i had with this game just grew more and more.

The Souls game in comparison are like the most fair games ever.
I'm not sure if i really am just bad at this game, or because of the retarded mechanism that trash mobs can stunlock and kill you in 2 hits or 1 combo.

Without the hidden quicksave/quickload feature i would probably already uninstalled it long ago.

Also the ending was just shit and explained nothing really.
Also no mention at all what happened to the rescued NPCs.
And that doctor woman just disappeared without any explanation after that scene in the Executive Board.

Well:
5.5/10

It's you Very Happy, mobs can easily stunlock you to death in Dark Souls.

I'm fairly sure I'm close to the end now (big rocket, nanites everywhere).

I heard some people say they were just running past enemies in the second half, and I'm still killing people no problem. Maybe it's my choice of weapon (heavy-duty).

I can see people being fed up with slowly chipping away at the huge health bar of later enemies (especially the heavy-sec guys), but with the 4th boss weapon, it's piff-paff-good-night. Smile

Love the game. Did Black cerberus and got his full armor and weapon. I came there with the standard exo suit and lynx armor, starter weapon so it's a big upgrade. Now wearing the Maus armor however.

It's not a bad game at all. The marketing failed big time.

The combat is quick and responsive. I like it more than Dark souls. The only thing I dislike a lot is that its all a maze. Not a fan of the artstyle either. Feel like a clown in a mouse suit.

Didn't have a problem with HP of enemies. Even have to use + energy gain implants because they all die in 2-3 hits. Even with the one handed MG centurion.

You can dodge the rockets. Keep hitting the boss until that bar is filled and the boss will get hit by his own rockets. Another way is to destroy the plates on his legs, then, when the boss tries to smash you, hit the leg connected to the ground, this will knock him down.

ah ok, will have to try again to get the rockets hit the boss... I can easily get the bar full etc. But that's when it starts shooting the rockets and so far, no matter what I do -> rockets aim at me (like even if I go under the boss) and they also hit me in mid roll.

The beta patch was updated.
http://steamcommunity.com/app/378540/discussions/0/1290691308568219300/

Quote:

Added:

Play your own music in OPS! Drop WAV, OGG or FLAC files to "My Documents/The Surge/songs"
A kill switch button combination for players being stuck has been added (Press 'LB', 'LT', 'RB', 'RT', 'LS' and 'RS' at the same time, 'F4' is the default binding on the keyboard) - Please only use this when your character is stuck.
Added an option to bind jumping/ducking from blocking to the left stick (when using a controller)

Bug Fixes:

Player will be able to block most attacks. This refers to enemy attacks that were only able to be ducked or hopped, which prior to the change ignored blocking. You will now be able to block these attacks, but they consume more stamina than 'standard' attacks.
Fixed some random crashes triggered by accessing invalid memory
Fixed some cases where display refresh rates were not displayed correctly within the menu (PC)
It is now easier to stagger enemies using light, faster-hitting weapons.
Removed Exploits where the player could receive unlimited Tech Scrap by switching the UI while dismantling objects
Potential random crash in the animation system
TDR crashes on Kepler GPUs (Nvidia 7## and 6## series)
Fixed holes in collision where the player could get stuck
Prevent the screensaver from kicking in when using a PS4 controller (PC)
Correctly apply fall damage when doing a plunging/jumping attack
The staff wielding security guards will no longer parry counter attacks and backstabs
Always apply the correct damage from counter attacks following from ducking under or jumping over enemy attacks
Fixed the behavior when binding target switching to the right stick
Properly store the button imagery configured in the options menu
Properly negate 100% toxic damage when wearing the Liquidator armor set
Enemy super armor was not decreasing properly in some cases after a string of quick successive hits
Fixed level transition elevators that were no longer available after dying in the moving elevator
Fixed respawn positions of the player on level transition elevators that caused players falling into their death immediately after loading a savegame
Loot drops of the smelting machines are now saved in the level so it can be collected even when dying after defeating the smelting machine
Fixed an issue where the "Big Sister" achievement did not unlock properly after killing the Big Sister 1/3
Mapping the dodge button to Circle will no longer cause the player to dodge every time the player "backs out" of the game menu.
Possible crash when leaving New Game+ at the beginning and starting a new game.
Gameplay blocker if the player does not collect the Security Exo-Rig after destroying the case. This will also fix broken saves.
Various AR elements should no longer appear in the wrong locations.
Counter attacks on drone enemies are no longer interrupted when using a Single-rigged weapon.
Closed door in Resolve Biolabs now opens correctly. This will also fix broken saves.
Using an implant that is on cooldown in the same moment an enemy is finished will no longer cause a repeating error message .
Fixed issues where armor items were unable to be equipped in New Game+.
Hobbs no longer asks for help after the player has helped him.
Player can no longer get stuck at certain stairs in the tunnels of Resolve Biolabs.
Player can no longer target the upper part of PAX while PAX is standing up.
Sorting items by 'Newest' now works properly.
Removed Quicksave/Quickload bindings.

Tweaks:

The values for health related implants have been adjusted to fall more in line with the desired/projected player health progression (more health)
The damage of the beam ranged attack of the Nano mass enemy has been reduced
The windup of the beam attack has been increased
Reduced the volume of the 'secret finding implant' - even more so when using a controller and rumble is enabled
Deactivate the 'secret finding implant' in the medbay
Implants granting a weapon proficiency level bonus now also grant a proficiency reward bonus so it becomes more viable to level up more than one weapon type
Added an option to bind jumping/ducking from blocking to the left stick (when using a controller)
Jumping/ducking from blocking can now also be done by pressing the bound keys for moving forward/backward (when playing with mouse and keyboard)
Tweaked hitboxes of the staff wielding security guards' attacks
Tweaked hitboxes of some enemies wielding fork lift weapons
Tweaked hitboxes of some enemies wielding two handed weapons
Tweaked the timings for the perfect block window for the player
Improved behavior of the Security Guard.
The music in Ops will no longer play after the player has died and respawned.
Improved behavior of the Black Cerberus when his attacks are blocked.
Elevator positions have been adjusted to avoid waiting for an elevator after dying.
Proximity Sensor no longer emits a beeping sound when an enemy is locked.
Character is now invulnerable for a short time after a finishing move is finished.
Increased the duration of the stamina buff triggered when collecting enough Tech Scrap to be worth a level up.
Reduced the stamina cost for continually blocking.
Increased the time for the continual block stamina cost to begin.

(Includes the changes from the previous beta.)
