Is it safe to doubple split a molex?

Right now I have 1 molex adapter that is split to provide for my HD and my G card.
Can I split one side again so it can accomodate another harddrive?

Code:
              Gcard
------  <       Harddrive 1
               <
                   Harddrive 2

kinda like that ^ Razz

Yes, so long as your PSU can take it you should be fine. I would never suggest pairing like that though, I would put a DVD drive where HDD2 is.. Im always anal about how my power is distributed..

Good news ladies the PSU is 350W but it's easily more powerful than a 500W Smile. My bro said you're supposed to have 450W for a GTX but a shuttle can handle 2 of them no problem Smile

How is a 350Watt PSU more powerful than a 500Watt?

I would play it safe and upgrade it.

Well the fact it supports 2 GTX in SLI mode which require 450W each proves that it can support it anyway Rolling Eyes

besides I have it hooked up now and its working fine.

Its probably more like it is a good quality PSU.
The reason nVidia and others mentions "400w required" and so on is simply for making sure that any noob with some pissant PSU can use the card.

Anyone ever tried a 7800GT on a shitty q-tec PSU? One word: Don't!

The PSU is the part of the PC that most people thinks the least about, even though it is one of the most important ones! A high quality PSU with less wattage will always be better than a cheapass PSU with high wattage.
Simple as that.

A GTX' peak power consumption is, accordingly to nVidia, 110W. This means 2 GTX in SLi would peak at about 220W. Add to this the CPU, MB, RAM DIMMs and a HDD, and you'll see you are forcing your PSU. It's true, you have a good quality PSU, with 350 W continuos output, and maybe 380-400W peak output. But keeping it at it's maximum output is not necesary healthy. If I would have the money to buy 2 7800GTX, I sure would have another 100-150$ to buy a good quality 500 Watts PSU, just to be safe.

o and just so u stop going on about it... I ONLY HAVE ONE GTX
Razz

1 GTX
4 HD's (1 s-ata)

The shuttle only comes with one molex which is a bit weird so you need a splitter indirectly anyway because the GTX requires one, and then you have your HD or cd/dvd drive.

don't plug HD+GTX on same molex

1GTX+4HD already requiers 400W at least,so if u want to screw up something keep using uber-shuttle psu Wink
