Elba is a great actor but I just can't see him as Roland. Even moreso after reading some of the books and comics
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Filming began a short while ago.
Stephen King has teased that the movie might be taking place after the books which would explain why what they are doing with the movie doesn't look like an adaptation of book 1. https://twitter.com/StephenKing/status/733244613000069120
Those that have read the last book know what that means. The others, well, don't search it if you don't want to spoil it!

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Do people have an aversion to wearing collared clothing in this movie?
1 and 2 are still amazing.

I'm not spoiler-tagging it this time as it's now officially confirmed as part of the PR:
The movie is a sequel to the books.

Can't fucking wait!
Given how true books end, doing it this way makes sense. They can keep the good from 8 books and ditch the bad.
They had better keep Blaine the mono

Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!

So. it will be mostly set in our world\time? meh.....
PS And it looks cheap + it seems that Roland is now a sidekick to a little shit
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

What a dissapointment. Tbh looks like shit already.
Even if it's a sequel neglecting the mid world and making it play out in our world/time takes away much of the "magic" that made the books great in the first place.
Rip
P.s.: At least we got Westworld to ease our pain.

I'm not familiar with the books, but judging from the concept and crew involved it does sound intriguing indeed

Looks okay to me.
What's with the dumb addition of the kid though? Adds only unnecessary drama and annoyances.

The kid is a main character in the books. They could have technically removed him from the story, since the movie isn't an accurate retelling of the books but rather a mirrored version/alternate universe version of them. Still, due to how large a part he plays in the original story, it makes sense they would keep Jake. Even if I do find kids super annoying in movies.

@Kanint
Didn't know he is important in the books.
But i agree they should have left him out. The main reason they added him is probably just to cater to a wider audience anyways.

Or you know, being a character to whom (like the audience) things are explained to instead of just using narration.

I was sceptical about this, still am, but I thought the trailer was surprisingly decent
