Probably just the next expansion for the TOR MMO. I can't see them remaking KOTOR.

I thought that game was already dead and jus lived off some die hard fans paying subs/microtransactions?

For me; lately just reading the word "reboot", regardless of context, triggers a slight cold sweat.

Sad

A big Star Wars RPG, afforded a good sized budget, and a passionate no-bs developer with time to work, is always going to make a huge crowd interested. Hot property.

I think we're due a new current-gen RPG style Star Wars experience, one that is actually worth remembering.

It ended up doing quite well once they switch to a hybrid F2P system. It's still going along nicely, for a MMO.

One year ago, April 2016, SWTOR was ranked third in revenue generated for MMO which offered a subscription. (WoW was first, Lineage 1 was second)
That's enough money to keep releasing expansions.

Wow, that's very surprising to read.

Also Lineage 1?!

It's making money, but EA are fairly cagey about how much. As I recall, from the last earnings call revenues were down in the last 6 months on the back of KOTET. Management-wise, the game is in kind of a pseudo-maintenance mode. It's clear EA have made very heavy cuts to staffing, so they are very limited in what they can do. There hasn't been a new raid in, what, 2+ years? A lot of the playerbase is very discontent. PvPers and raiders have left in droves, guilds are dying off, etc. Basically it is the cash shop that is bringing in a significant portion of their revenue. There's obviously still a reasonable number of whales willing to spend real cash money on buying random loot boxes to play virtual dress up.

Haha! If it's anything like Bioware's Inquisition then I have nothing to worry about. A nifty homemade sex toy, a couple of likes on their tumblr account, one #socialjustice4life retweet and I can get away with it! Very Happy Laughing

They have dropped the 'game developer' mask long time ago...they're just a progressive political party/lobby group composed mainly of liberal millennials. Their latest political manifesto i.e. 'ME Andromeda' has proven that beyond a shadow of doubt.
