Focus Home Interactive has released three new screenshots for Deck13’s The Surge, unveiling some of the game’s mini-bosses set to prowl the hallways of overrun industrial complex CREO.

Enemies are so bulletspongy.. I really don't like it..

Anyways, the game looks kinda boring..both combat and the setting..

@h0rnyfavn
I agree on the boring part.

It seems i just goes like that:
1on1 an enemy ->
walk a bit ->
see another single nearby enemy who couldn't hear you clashing metal on metal ->
1on1 an enemy ->
...

Yeah, these guys' main problem (also present in LoTF) is that they don't seem to understand that what makes the Dark Soul-ish formula great is fundamentally the level/enemy design.

Copying the approach is just the base of the pyramid, if you leave it that way without adding more layers, you end up having something that at best can resemble a stable instead xD
(Still better than some of the AAA weaksauces out there though, despite..everything).

The setting doesn't help this game at all. It feels silly to fight in an exoskeleton suit against futuristic robots with melee attacks.

It definitely seems that there wasn't the expected 'jump' in terms of production values/design. The game will likely be like their previous one, a rough and derivative Soulish knock-off without any proper accomplishments, but still worth an isodemo Very Happy

Haha you're right, if there was one thing that LoF did right was the great grim/dark vistas and feel to it (including the sexy armors).

I guess this is the "best" that we can have when it comes to DS-inspired gameplay (not much really), if only Nioh wasn't a peeStation's exclusive Sad *shakes fist*

Nioh looks pretty crap too, tbh. Dark Souls 2 level of visuals.
But it's combat system seems deeper at least, so there's that Razz

There is a very similar game like SS coming out soon, can't remember the name though. Sad

Yep, as the game doesn't really look worth a buy.

I quite like what I see, of course Im still not on the "it will be a masterpiece" train, and it can be a total disaster, but the day a release happens, I will surely try it Smile

Futuristic setting where everyone fights with sticks in technologically advanced armor Very Happy
Doesn't make any sense.

Also, enemies really seem to spongy. This is what bothered me in LofT a lot. Enemies could take 100 hits and not fall down. That's very, very bad and lazy way of making the game harder.
