I just don't want to support any people that partake in this kind of behavior, I just think people attempting to force their worldview on others are shitty human beings. All parties in this "story" suck.. wtf gaming tubers doing debating complex issues what idiotic choices those two guys made.. > then even worse all the other retards watching and writing about it like it fucking matters.. please.

Most seem to dislike how it actually feels like a 90s game, when that was sort of the appeal. Guess I'll wait for ye olde crackl'd version.

pretty much what i am seeing that the most problesm people have generally is the fact that game that was backed as "90s 3d platformer/colecthathon is in the end actual 90s-like 3d platformer/colecthathon " plus als some camera issues (which can be fixed) and performance on consoles

Average reviews seems to be higher than i expected though :

It sounds like another case of criticized game from mainstream outlets that I'll likely end up enjoying, like it happened in many other circumstances (including the recent Rain World). Not that I care to begin with, I just isodemo everything that's isodemo-able and decide for myself Razz

edit:
I was watching the ACG one that you mentioned, and indeed bugs/technical problems such as the faulty camera seem to be the main issue:

and seems like some of the issues will be taken care of with 0-day patch

Playtonic and Team17 have announced a patch for cheery Banjo-Kazooie homage Yooka-Laylee.

The update resolves a number of glitches and improves general performance. In particular, it takes aim at the game's camera - one of the rougher aspects of a not-unworthy platformer that is a little too in thrall to the classics. Here's the changelog in full:
[Fixed] Camera will become locked in place after completing Gravity Room challenge in Galleon
[Fixed] Grappling the seeds as they break in Planker's challenge causes erratic behaviour in Moodymaze Marsh
[Fixed] Game softlocks and has to be reset if the player leaves the course and faints during the Nimble race in Tribalstack Tropics
[Fixed] Softlock will sometimes occur on the Hub C slide if the player faints at the same moment as the timer reaching zero
[Fixed] If the player leaves Brreeeze Block's room in the Icymetric Palace in Glitterglaze Glacier but remains in the world and returns to the same room then the isometric camera will be deactivated
[Fixed] If player is killed by a bizzy in hub B and knocked back into the archive door at the exact same time, the screen will still transition. When the player respawns, they will be unable to move
Performance improvements to various camera transitions in the introductory cut scene
Performance improvements to Shipwreck Creek and Hivory Towers. Various areas have been improved including camera movement
Performance improvements when using the light beam in the Icymetric Palace within Glitterglaze Glacier
Performance improvements during the House of Cards ball roll course in Capital Cashino
Performance improvements in the Bee-Bop arcade game

Hello and welcome to the first ever post-game-release Playtonic community update!

But first… we’ve got some spit ‘n’ polish to deploy.
In the days since launch – and as we work with speed towards the Nintendo Switch – the dev team has been frogmarched back down into the development mines to uncover our next big game update, which will add significant improvements and introduce some of the most requested features.

That means stuff like the optional ability to skip dialogue faster, bypass cutscenes or reduce those pesky gibberish voices, which should please the speedrunners among us. We’ll also be adding a sprinkling of design polish throughout the adventure and by popular request, changes to how the camera operates

You can expect a more detailed breakdown of the game update in the coming weeks, as we continue to tinker around with the coding furnace. Until then, here’s a bit more of what we’ve been up to…

When some stupid bug hits you in the face then you're willing to wait for the next update. I had to kill some enemies up some tower or whatever, but i managed to hit the very last enemy off the platform and it didnt fall down, just hovered in the air too far out of reach..

In the months since launch we’ve been hard at work on Yooka-Laylee’s first big game update, and we’re pleased to confirm that once our test team is done trying to break it, it will be deploying later this month on PC, followed shortly after on consoles.

Yes we cam
This rather plump update will add all manner of exciting gubbins, including the optional ability to skip dialogue faster, bypass cutscenes or reduce those pesky gibberish voices (which should please speedrunners), plus a brand new optional camera mode that gives players full control of where it’s pointed.

We’ve paid close attention to your feedback and hopefully the additions we’ve cooked up will make Yooka-Laylee an even more enjoyable experience, whether you’re playing for the first time or reptile rolling in for a second playthrough.

As promised, you can find a detailed breakdown of the updates we’ll be adding in the list below. In addition to these changes, we’ll also have an extensive list of bug fixes – which should resolve most common issues – when the game update is deployed in the coming weeks.

Funny they have capped the framerate to 30 fps in this mode.

At least they won't have to do that for the console versions, they are already capped Cool Face
