My linked card is going to expire this month, I already have the replacement which has the same card number, but different CVC, how am I supposed to update it on Steam, delete the old one and add the new one?

Just add the new card. You can delete or keep the other, doesn't matter.

Each card is unique, because of their combination of card number, CVC AND expiration date, not because of simply the number.

Another Valve update to "_CommonRedists" for VisualC++ 2015

I prefer to maintain these runtimes separately so I just delete the folder but it's been like six or so times now they've updated this runtime resulting in a 16 - 22 MB update for a couple dozen games. Razz

Usually not.

At least my CCs have same number, it only changed once when I reported it stolen.
CVC and expiry date change every time.

Steam User Review Changes
Quote:
We're in the process of making a couple more small changes to Steam Customer Review system as we continue to fine-tune the relevance and accuracy of the overall review score for each product.

In September, we made some adjustments to how the review score was calculated for each product. You can read about those changes and the reasoning behind it here. We're continuing with a few more changes in this direction to improve the relevance of the score by better reflecting the sentiment expressed by invested, paying customers.

With the changes we are making now, the review score (shown at the top of store pages and in various places throughout the store such as search results) will no longer include reviews by users that received the game for free, such as via a gift, or during a free weekend. Reviews can still be written by customers that obtained the game in any of these ways, but the review will not count toward the overall review score.

We started rolling out this change earlier this week, and it will take a few more days for our system to completely update all reviews and re-calculate the scores. In the meantime, you may see the review score on a game change a couple of times depending on how many reviews come from the sources mentioned above.

This change only affects games that are listed for sale on Steam. For free or free-to-play games, reviews by all users will continue to count toward their review score.

TL;DR
Score will no longer include reviews by users that received a game for free in anyways

Well they're a small part of the overall user base so the score shouldn't be impacted much but it seems like a odd change although I guess it's the only way to get to the have key -> give positive review trading for some of these games especially early on during release when a single review can sway positive to mixed or to negative if there's no other or only a handful of other reviews for said game.

Besides looking at the average isn't always meaningful, reading the top ranked reviews can at least give a overview on what's good or bad about the game.
(Although the overview does work as a initial display of how the game was received.)

Well i saw some games that often had more reviews by people who got it for free. Very Happy
Though i think those were mainly smaller Indie games anyways.

And yea, i keep reading the latest + top ranked reviews too. Give the best overview about the current state of a game.

pretty sure valve is counting on people directly buying games to defend them more vigorously and push up ratings.. theres no reason to consider people receiving gifts from.. 'friends'... to have a less valid opinion of what theyve played...

keys kinda made sense since they can sometimes be given out in mass amounts to people, but not gifts, thats just clearly attempting to manipulate the scores.

I'm using the Steam Database addon for Firefox.

But since a few weeks it doesn't show the current player numbers on a Store page anymore:

I guess it's because of the newer FF versions and their change to plugins?

Seems to be working on Chrome. Try re-installing. If it fails, guess new FF version is not supported?

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Heh, a bit over a 1200 games here though it took several years even if Steam has grown massively these last two years in particular.
(Wonder if EA ever considered going back to Steam, Ubisoft is probably benefiting from their set-up even if using two clients is a bit sub-optimal for the user.)

Wonder if Steam has a 10K+ tag now that there is actually over 10.000 games listed.
(Even if more than half is indie games with probably close to almost 1000 being in early access.)

Holy shit - I have such fond memories of that game. I've still got the hardcover novel that came with it sitting on the shelf!
