You're right!

Is manually mapping all these huge dungeons too much to ask for? Who decided these malicious auto-mapping features had to ruin all my fun!!!!!

*sad face*

The problem for me (again, just an opinion) is that, back in the days, those dungeons you mention were crafted by people in a way that made it enjoyable and challenging to explore them. You know, designed. By actual level designers.

Nowadays, dungeons are auto-generated by algorithms and copy-pasted into the game. That's when you're lucky. If you're not, they're generated randomly on the fly, and this is sold to you as a "feature". Procedural generation! Who cares it the levels are boring and cookie-cutter, there's an INFINITE NUMBER of them! So you can be bored and disappointed an INFINITE amount of times!! Is that great?

You're serious, right?

Have you played Bard's Tale lately? We're talking empty hallways full of spinners and endless random encounters.

Compare that with games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim - where Bethesda hired 8+ level designers DEDICATED to dungeon design exclusively.

The gaming industry was always a business - you people were just too young to realise this in the 80s. Have you heard about the video game crash of 1983?

Do you think that happened because it was too full of artistry and creativity? OMG Wink

The only difference is that the industry is MASSIVE today - which means the quality to shit ratio will reflect that.

But there's plenty of talent and passion to find, if you keep you eyes open.

Uhh, I'm a "prick" now Wink That's new.

You're bringing out the big guns. Your arguments get better by the minute.

Yes, you should definitely ignore me if you can't argue your position. Anything else would be embarrasing.

I had to drag myself to play ME2 and ME3, I just won't bother with this one as it's just not my cup of tea.
That said, I do agree that hating on a game just because of inclusion is stupid. If the game itself sucks or you just don't like then that's fine but if the deal-breaker is 'ehr mah gawd they have gais in there!!111' then that's just silly.

No one's forcing anyone to buy a particular game Confused Why would there be a law for it. If you feel any game is below your standards, you can choose not to buy it.

For some people, there's no alternative to their - correct - opinions.

If they've decided to dislike it - then it MUST be bad, and there should be a law against it. People who disagree are trolls or shills.

Pretty amusing, when you think about it Wink

Here is the thing, mate.
It's not that the game is bad - to a lot it is.
It's not that the negative reviews of this game scored it well above average.
It's not that the game has sloppy execution all around and that the MP is a sickening experience.

It's the fact that this game was meant to be a bastion for the SJWs. From the Devs on twitter harassing straight white "niggers.". It's from paid SJW shills attacking anyone and everyone that may hate this game. From treating anyone with an opposing opinion as a troll/gamer gater/transphobic/homophobic/racist/bigot. And the very fact that execution of these ideas is piss poor and insulting.

The forefront of this game is not what made ME games good. The forefront of this game is the ideology behind it. Plenty of games have gays/trans/mix-raced bitches all over the place and the execution is good. In here they focused on pandering to people without actually learning who they are\why they are who they are. They created a very homophobic/transphobic game - on purpose - to pander to these people.

And ignored everything else.

You like the game... good. Enjoy it. No one is going to tell you that your opinion is shit. But you can't really defend the poor choices they made while making this game. The ignorance of basic gameplay design. The core mechanics of what made ME games M FUCKING E games.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
