As I am moving to China soon I will be selling my Computer. But I want to get a laptop to take with me (better for school etc).
Now I want to be able to play some games, most important World of Warcraft (and yes I prefer to run it on High settings).
And some other games like Fallout 4 for example.

Don't really know much about laptops and the only one I found that wasn't too expensive was this:
Asus ROG Strix GL553VW-DM059T

Is this a good choice for it's price (around 850 euro)?
Or would you recommend something else in that price range?

All tips are welcome Smile

laptop and gaming, both words in one sentence... im gonna puke, wait a moment

Vomit

so im back, if you really insist to do gaming with a laptop -> buy one with a gtx 1070 (or alteast 1060 6gb). those are the desktop chips now in laptops. that can be used for gaming. that slowass 960m in your model is just a better multimedia card and useless. will get a pricey ofc, models with the 1060 6gb (which is the sweetspot for full hd) begin at 1299 euros

is that even not enough for WoW or some simple gaming? Won't be for hardcore gaming and having to put everything on Ultra in new games. Won't even play those anyway Smile

the i5-6300HQ is weak, and with setting wow to high details the 960m would be not enough

What are you going to do if something dies in it and you have to ship it back RMA?
(and yes, gaming laptops are more prone to breakage than office integrated stuff)

Janz where are you getting this bullshit talk? I have laptop with GTX 960M 2GB paired with 6700HQ, and it doesnt have any problems running WoW: Legion with high settings 1920x1080, it runs even ultra pretty good. 960M is basically desktop 750Ti, and it is more than just "multimedia" card.

1. do not get a laptop for "gaming"
2. if you must, do NOT get CPU's with the following letters: U or Y - those are low power drain - low performance CPUs
3. get a laptop with a DEDICATED video card with VRAM
4. get at least 16GB of RAM, 32GB better
5. get at least 256GB SSD for main OS/primary games and whatever for additional storage
6. get a laptop cooler table, you will have to dissipate a lot of heat, in the summer even more so
7. every 6 months or so - open the laptop and clean it with compressed air and replace all thermal pastes
8. do not buy HP - I worked there, laptops break a lot

Jesus Christ the people here are fucking retarded. Huehuehue can't game on laptop. Because traveling with an entire desktop is a much better option.

Look into clevo/sager if you want a good notebook, they're a little pricey but they're built well and in most cases they're mxm so you can upgrade the video on it, usually two hard drive bays, sometimes 4 slots for memory.

If not them maybe look at MSI, they've upped their gaming notebook game a bit.

The new gaming lenovos went trash, stay away, they're a motherfucker to fix/work on now.

Asus usually made decent ones, dunno if they still do.

As Streagle said, stay the fuck away from HP, and add Toshiba to that, I make good money fixing those two.

Dell.....Dell is trash but easy to fix, Dell owns Alienware and they're unreliable as cheaply made.

my clevo died soon after warranty expired... too much heat is not a good thing. It did run GTA V and whatever else I wanted though (GTX 960M 2GB), can't see why WoW wouldn't work...

BTW StrEagle has good advice, except for the processor... I would avoid desktop processors because they generate way too much heat, I think that's what killed my clevo.

I never trust any notebooks heat dissipation, gaming or regular, always take it apart to put shinetsu thermal compound on everything that needs it and always run custom fan profiles then add spacers under the back feet since it gets so hot back there it just heats up the surface and pulls in that heat (my sager had the fans on bottom)

take your tower apart/buy new parts and then build your new tower when there. Doesn't take that much space. Also you're going to china, not like the saharan desert. I'm sure you find adequate PC parts over there in shops.
