|
 |
Just got a new monitor - this one. It's gorgeous, but I've run into a bit of an issue when hooked up via Display Port.
When I cold boot the system in the mornings (I turn my PC off when I sleep, as I'm a light sleeper) it doesn't show the motherboard boot screen - the display port doesn't seem to start functioning until windows load kicks in.
However, if I restart after already in Windows the first time, the boot screen shows up normally.
Any ideas as to what's causing this behavior or a fix?
Thanks.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Maybe it is just not too quick in waking up from stand-by?
What happens if you turn your monitor on just before you start the pc?

I think you may be right. I don't turn the monitor off as it's not distracting on standby (just a tiny blue flashing light). Just hopped into the BIOS and it functioned normally. I may try setting the source from "Auto" to Display Port and seeing if it picks up quicker.

Is that the only connected display?
I usually have something like this when I have multiple monitors and the system decides to treat one of the switched off ones as primary, so it shows the POST screen on there and the other display remains blank.
It rights itself according to my settings once it reaches Windows (and it does seem to stick for the reboots, but resets back after shutdown).
