It's eyes reflect the whole of the gaming industry today. Souless, with a touch of maniacism.

Only the females are ugly, this surely is intentional.
Every random Asarai in the other games was significantly more attractive in the face

It's even more disturbing in the gif:

1 and 2 are still amazing.

I wouldn't call the faces ugly, but I don't care about that really. The eyes though, on males and females are very freaky. I can't believe someone at EA didn't think about this when testing. I assume the dev teams from DA:I and this one aren't completely separated, so I have no clue why the eyes in this one look so disturbing while it was fine in DA:I. Weird.

Looks like 50 Shades of Andromeda and I expect the writing quality to be on par with those books.

Actually they are. DA1-3 (and the original ME1-3) were done at the original Bioware studio, Edmonton. MEA is being done by the Montreal studio that started up under EA. They did the ME3 multiplayer and also the Omega DLC. I'm sure there has been some interaction, but the old ME team is working on a secret new IP and presumably the DA team is working on DA4.

I keep looking at that gif, gameplay videos and images, and I'm trying to figure out what is so wrong with them that people are so riled up about. I just don't see it.

Nothing would be wrong with them if this game came first, but for some retarded reason they have gone backwards when it comes to aesthetics/physiology/traits etc
Not that I give a fuck, I gave up on this series after ME2, but it's always nice to check in every now and then to see if it's worth jumping back in. |
I don't see it. I mean, maybe the eyes on that male in the gif are a little apart. Not a big deal.
I think people are missing the point of why they should hate this. It's not because they don't like the look of some character, but because so little is known about this game.

Is that sarcasm or what. They focused more on diversity, trannies and racism that the game looks like dogshit. Animations are horrible, the gameplay is dull and nothing new. Even in this gif the nu-male gets jumped by a butch looking lesbian alien. Everything has some awful idea behind it. Ppl are begging for the crew to have helmets because how crap they all look. All again with some idea behind them to show how diverse bioware is.

Mass Effect was never at the top graphically, so I also don't understand this pages long discussion over faces, but the eyes freak me out. Something is very unnatural about them. Some preview even mentioned it, saying the eyes looked cartooney.

Mass Effect 1 came out in 2007
Mass Effect 2 came out in 2010
Mass Effect 3 came out in 2012
Mass Effect: Andromeda comes out in 2017.
Yes I expected better graphics but most importantly; a lot better ANIMATIONS and more natural transitions between each animation.

What's really funny is how much companies like Obsidian gets a pass around here.
Talk about shitty animations and models.
This is Bioware we're talking about, though, so everything they do is horrible - whether you can find a reason for it or not.
That said, sure, the models and animations aren't the very highest quality - but then again, how many games have that? Not even Skyrim or Fallout 4 had good models - and they have all the resources they need.
I guess when it comes to Bioware - the actual game is suddenly not what's important.
No, how the female face doesn't look fantastic is the primary issue.
Again, this is nothing but the moronic whining patrol in action.
Entertaining, though
There were many elegant ways to conduct the debate and voice your (interesting) opinion, but you chose to call all the other members a 'moronic whining patrol' nullifying everything. That's not acceptable I'm afraid, and it's not the first time that it happens.

Yeah, how the characters look couldn't be less relevant, since that's not what I, or I imagine anyone in this forum, cares about in a Mass Effect game. The characters looked goofy in ME 1-3 and it didn't stop me playing and enjoying them.
What did almost stop me, and what is almost certainly going to stop me from playing Andromeda is the actiony, button=awesome, one character fits all gameplay styles that Bioware seems to have gone for. Not that this is something new, they've been heading in this direction since ME2. They're going for a wider audience at the expense of the initial core group of fans. Great from a business standpoint I suppose, but looking to Bioware for the greatness of old is futile I suppose. Biggest reason why I don't want a KoToR 3.
I can't speak for the story or the dialogue, after Inquisition the bar is set so low they can hardly surprise me anymore. We'll see it launches.
