Not sure what I wanted? Maybe smaller monsters that don't block and jam the doorways as much...but if I look at it thru "Painkiller" eyes it isn't so bad....haha
I didn't complain about the setting, did I? I complained about the lackluster gameplay. Don't tell me they couldn't make a decent melee combat and give those terminators different types of grenades and ammo that should work better against some targets. It's not a problem of setting, fluff, level design or even graphics, it's everything else.
Sure you didnt. Know what? Take the BMX (and complain at the lack of engine pistons and 4 wheel drive).

I agree with Nodrim....the game looks great...setting and dark feel...but man o man the never ending straight on attack of corridor clogging monsters!!
Thats the idea. Its Space Hulk. What else do you wanted?
Now you're just excusing lazy gameplay. These lazy games are a trend today.
@Nodrim: you know weapons, monsters or even types of ammo are part of the setting especially when the setting is board game
TBH, I haven't played the board game. I played some table top (Grey Knights ftw!) before GW pissed me off with their "balancing" designed to get more money from people. I was just saying some examples there of how could the gameplay be improved, it doesn't necessarily have to be all of those. The game gets repetitive within an hour, that's during the first mission, and never gets rid of that feeling. It's clearly something wrong with the gameplay mechanics.
Does these games touch upon the massive lore that the warhammer 40k series has?
Yes, they are very faithfull to the lore (and that is why i like them) but are focused on the space hulk part, and not on all the other aspects of the universe from W40K, whence some ppl complaining there are little variety, and others saying the gameplay is much of the same. For me its spot on (and albeit repetitive), its quite fun if youre into the W40K spirit, oh.. And i dont care much for the steam reviewers (infact almost all of them cry about the framerate, and on my rig runs good enough), as i dont care for the metacritic reviewrs who usually give a review just to confess two lines below that they never knew the setting or books or the lore, and are obviously just judging from the shallow cover of their own lack of knowledge.
Dont get me wrong, every opinion is valid, and shite. I would like some more content too but im happy with it as it is. (and praise the level designers and the small company who did it)
Maybe some ppl were thinking that deathwing was more like this, hey?

Its strange how I end up going back to play it???? I guess I like walking around and blasting the shit out of everything...the creatures look cool and the underground is great...I play for about 20-30 min then I have to get away from it??? Next day I'm back at it??? HELP ME!!

Played first 2 level and I am pleasantly surprised!
It's kinda like Painkiller/Left 4 dead mix game.
Graphics are just fantastic and levels are surprisingly big and complex. There is not much to this game, it's just shooting and walking slowly + few skills but it's all very well done.
The feeling and sound of weapons is just The bullet hell with minigun is pure joy. You can't even see where You are shooting but game is also quite difficult.
Overall, I can see this being pretty boring but it does not deserve the shit it got. I even expected worse perofmance. People said it barely runs 20-30fps... while here it runs 60 and drops to 40 during heavy action. 1080p maxed settings.
voice acting is good, direction is good. Not sure what else could be done with 40k game like this.

Nothing has changed, this is a retardedly optimized game. Most likely using the incorrect engine for what they needed.
It IS dropping frames no matter what settings during combat. But it looks pretty glorious

They have patched it a number of times now. It is a lot smoother and I am finding the clogging of corridor monsters isn't as bad! Plus the guys with you are a lot better at helping out...not sure if the patches helped the AI but it seems better? Same though...I play for 30 or 40 mins then have to get away from it...next day I am all in again!! Haha....finally bought it with the 33% off....addicted...YIKES!

Remember when "devs" used to do it before release, rather than release a messed up turd and then polish the turd after release?
I remember that before steam we had to manually download patches from gamershell or fileplanet and research if a new patch is out.
We also had to research if the patches were incremental and needed previous patches or not.
Yep. golden days

I remember it was possible to play games from start to finish, at reasonable performance.
Ever since Steam brought Early Retardedses, it has brought a bunch or incompetent developers who have no business making games. This is one of those cases.
Haha exactly , it would even be a potentially useful concept on paper, but unfortunately it was abused and more importantly left uncontrolled/unsupervised until...what we have now, which is pretty much complete anti-customer anarchy.
I've been adding the mocking [Early Access] tag to specific titles in the section in order to warn those who are unaware of the danger, but to be honest at least the 90% of games released these days would deserve it for one reason or another.
Nowadays I am scared of playing games when they come out, I feel I am depriving myself of a good experience by not waiting for a while for them to be polished.
