Most ridiculous bug ever.

If you boot it in english it gets stuck on loading screen. So you need to change language to like french, then boot game, then go to settings and change back to english.

lmfao

Tried it and the graphics are cool. It runs so-so. all on max, 1080p, res scale set to 150 percent. Around 60fps.

The game is definitely solid, there are several technical issues at the moment (erratic texture streaming/stuttering due to the Unreal Engine, very rough interface and occasional sound bugs - practically like any PC title of late), but it's exactly like a modern Myst in a big 3D environment.

It may look like yet another walking simulator at first glance, but the amount of puzzles and overwhelming sense of being at a complete loss are spot-on. There's absolutely no hand-holding whatsoever, you're put in the middle of a deserted, strange world, and must figure out how to escape while interacting with contraptions, human holograms, tons of buttons, passages/doors and even teleporting. It will probably require weeks to finish it without any help which is positive. Laughing Almost like the Witness, only the puzzles here are mostly physical ones as per tradition.

Apart from some roughness, the graphics are pleasant too, same for the dynamic atmospheric soundtrack. A few pics from Bulgaria from the first area to give an idea (the progresses here are veery sloth_like, but satisfying Very Happy)

Solid game. Like Ixi says, it can be overwhelming - you spend most time trying to find the next "puzzle" rather than solving it. Progress is finding that single lever, that single scrap of paper, etc. If you got spades of free time, this can be an enjoyable game. If you don't ... well it's good to have a walk through close by to save frustration.

And yeah, that bug is ridiculous.

Those minireviews of you sound good, and also the reviews on Steam are very positive. Smile

Will give the isodemo a try after finishing Deus Ex.

You walk around and solve puzzles but it's more in the style of Myst or Riven with the real-time full 3D movement some of the later games in that series used, NPC's are still 2D sprites though that look like low-res video recordings heh.

Also I haven't seen any puzzle panels with a touch-screen friendly layout as here it's more the traditional puzzles such as interacting with objects such as buttons, levers and whatnot.

...They also "stole" the white house from Zork Grand Inquisitor. Razz
(And perhaps one of the early text-only adventure games in that series.)

I have a problem. The holograms only play sounds bot no FMV shows up (codec missing? Already installled the included redist files). When pressing the button nothing happens. Only If I press it rapidly would the sound start to play but no live actors show up. Codex release. (I have the gog version too but I've started playing with the scene release.)

I like it so far, just restored power so I'm super early in, but I think there's zero chance of me completing this without online help. Laughing

I'll try until I get frustrated though!

This is extremely insightful (even if one hasn't played the game), since it sums up exactly the problems with modern "adventure" games, and also some of the questionable back-to-the-roots approaches:

Yep.
I loved those old games but they were always full of impossible and outright stupid fhcking illogical puzzles. While I loved obduction for what it is, aat aome point the teleporter puzzles got so crazy and required so much running around that I bailed.
Adventure games are better as they are without this shit now.

Nowadays we have stuff like telltale games and classic point n click. Its just that myst style games are dead
