 |
Hi,
Not that it's urgent or so, but I've been looking out for good cases for an enthusiast watercooled build that's sufficient and quiet.
With sufficient I mean that I'm not interested in breaking temperature records, but instead I prefer to spend a little extra money 200-300€ and have multiple radiators with silent fans, rather than push-pull setups with a gazillion fans that are high rpm and louder.
In fact, my goal is to find a setup where I can have a CPU cooled below 65 degrees C under synthetic load,
and two Gfx cards of a class up to TITAN XP under 80 deg C under synthetic load.
Synthetic loads != real life / gaming loads, so Prime95 and Furmark kind of stress test SW.
The main problem here are the cases. I've been doing my research forever and I must say there are no feasable PC cases for WC available on the european / german market.
The best ones like some Caselabs models are either too expensive or simply not available in Germany, not even vis resellers.
The ones that are available are too huge and heavy, like the Corsair Obsidian 900D.
There is no middle ground or good compromise, it seems.
One of the biggest problems with cases today, IMHO, is the fact that there are no cases with no 5,25" bays or removable 5,25" bays.
They seem to be part of the chasis most often, which is the main reason I cant fit at least two 360mm rads in them, or one 480mm and one 360mm depends.
The cases they would fit with no problems are the huge Caselabs SMA8 & co. or 900D types of monsters.
I've been looking into the 750D and at the NZXT H440 recently, but even there I see problems and challenges and I cannot be bothered with hacks and improvisations.
Who uses 5,25" bays nowadays at all? I haven't had one optical drive in ages.
And even if I needed one I have my 20€ silmline USB writer that I use 2x a year, tops.
Harddisks wise I only have 2,5" SSDs and the only HDDs I own are either in my NAS or external / USB.
Can anyone give me some suggestions for cases that can fit two 360mm rads, one front, one top, or even more?
I'm looking for "regular" big towers the size and weight of a 750D or bequiet Silent Base 800 or Enermax Ostrog ADV type of cases.

If you want a quiet System dont use watercooling.
Every noctua or be quiet cooler Around 60-100 Euros is better.
If you still want it, for what ever reason i would get the fractal r5. Everything will fit in there but its no big Tower...

Im using Enthoo EVOLV atx, fantastic case, very high quality (like 3mm thick aluminium everywhere. You can fit 2x 360 rads to it, some EATX mobos wont fit without modding tho, my EVGA X99 FTW goes in without problems. Using single 360 rad in top of the case, 6x Fractal Venturi fans in push&pull, keeps my OC´d 5820K and 980Ti below 60 degrees and is pretty much inaudible. Btw push & pull doesnt mean more sound, you can actually put lower RPM to the fans since there is extra set of fans pushing air out of the case.

Case-Labs got a european shop now that opened short time ago, dont they?
Case-Labs is the winner when it comes to watercooling imo.
I hate you.
