Honestly, you should not need a 1080 or SuperClocked-whatever to run an average looking game in 2016. That basically shows you far more the optimized losers who dev'ed the game. H/W these days can drive farrrr better looking games then Quantum CRAP!

BTW, for those who have 3DM version(or Ali) and don't want to redownload CPY version, you don't need.. you need to get these files though :
Patch folder from CPY version...
And these files, put in root folder:
\dbdata.dll
\dbdataEA.dll
\EAWebKit64.dll
\Engine.BuildInfo_Win64_retail.dll
Hint: Go "Underground"(if you know what I mean)
Of course, you also need to put CPY crack, after that, change the language in Cpy.ini ,as 3dm version is in default Chinese...

I've only played about 2 hours of it but so far it's not as bad as people have said.
Yeah the combat is pointless (enemies die if you so much as kick them into a wall, crate, or even another enemy) but the parkour and exploration is still there.
Even if it turns shitty later, it was worth the free download.

Do you even notice any graphical differences with the hyper settings on? |
Right after install, I was tinkering with all sorts of setting so I could actually see the detailed textures not blurry, but then I had HD textures and blurry faces and vice-versa. Somehow with a mix of settings I got it right.
IDK why people say this is shit, disabling or setting the runner vision to classic, makes it enjoyable.

Hello Bob, thanks for reminding me, when I started playing it, didn't liked any presets.

Hello Dan,
i just tested this one here myself: http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/5878/
Looks a bit better. But at least the writings in the distance on ads for example still look like a blurry mess. Might just be the beginning with the weater and rain though.
Want to finish QB first before starting this.

Compare to Quantum Break? Yea, it does!
I have 80FPS on my GTX1070 but the game is CPU heavy, uses all cores to 99%.
Reminds me of Dragon Shit 3. Frosbite is pile of crap!

I know. It's not a good engine. It produces empty looking worlds (not sure how to describe it - may not be an engine issue per se, but all games with this engine have this problem), crude lighting, terrible streaming capabilities, animation interpolation seems very crude.
The fact that you need a 1070 or 1080 to push a game that looks like Mirror's Edge Catalyst to 60-80 fps is ridiculous.

Shift deleted. Game has huge freezes every 15 secs, then it runs super fine again. Unplayable and no graphic options other than Vsync and resolution, FUCK THAT.
I have no time for such bullshit.
edit: For reference, I never had that severe issues with the Demo... it was a bit hitchey, but okay enough...

Nope, not really. But the way it was utilized in Derp Age 3 was pure crap, indeed.

Advanced graphic options are there, just set the last option to "custom" and then it lets you chose.

@The_Leaf Cheers, doubt it'd have done much, even turning off Vsync with the freezes was a horrible experience, it took 15-20 secs to get out of the menu. Turning it on took 10 seconds, turning it off, too. Overall, I was far too mad to continue to bother.

so it's a proper crack? No issues at all? I can always buy and refund on origin, but just wondering.

I dunno,man..I don't have any freezes (vsync ON \OFF)t.. And menu works super fast. The game is installed on a "storage" HDD (WD green series)
I'm playing it on ultra preset. (hyper preset doesn't work properly coz of my 4GB VRAM limit) and the game runs at ~75-100 fps @ 1920x1200 when I run around the city

@Bob Barnsen Quote: | Also it helps to scroll down, |
The thing is you can't scroll down using your keyboard if you have any preset but custom selected.
However, you can use your mouse to scroll down and see these greyed out settings.
PS I don't find the game interesting tbh..same as the first one..the setting is great but running errands..literally running and quite often having a time limit is not enjoyable enough to keep me playing it..

Yep, it's a traditional old school release, not the ghetto-ish type like in the 3DM times with MGS/Mad Max.
I just installed it to briefly test the performance out of curiosity, the result for me is a (quite surprisingly) positive one.
Back in the 'beta' days, I would have framerate drops scraping the cinematic 30fps barrel (High details/1080p nonetheless), now I'm getting consistent ~70fps with Ultra details and internal resolution up to 110%, along with Reshade for the sharpening, as the visuals are very vaseline'd [consoles intensify]
Spoiler: | Had to use Fraps because Rivatuner doesn't like Reshade
 |
At this point, I really believe Windows 7 was the main culprit (it's the only thing that was upgraded), since both the 970 and vintage 2500k processor are still there, roaming undisturbed. Paul, I was right

The only thing that was upgraded.. aside of the game itself?

Yup, that definitely must be taken into account (although with EA, beta = final product ), but still, the difference in this case is so big that such aspect alone doesn't justify it in my opinion.
The odd/peculiar thing that made me dig this up is the fact that I was the only one with a relatively powerful card to experience huge frame drops in this game (there was some sort of debate in the previous pages ) and coincidentally I was the only one still on Windows 7. It really made me ring a bell, and now here we are! *wears tinfoil hat*
