My ps4 gamepad has gone nuts.
It loads and works perfect in the ps4 menu, but when i start a game it either doesnt work, doesnt respond or when say playing fifa,the run trigger button does not respond, i press r2 and it starts jogging as if i have pressed l2???
Something is fried but just weird how it works fine in the ps4 menu??
I dont fancy shelling 50 fuckingvquid for another controller so is there any good cheaper alternatives??
Does not have to be official just as long as it works correctly with my ps4.

It could be a possability being drunk as fuck or maybe i have spilt something on it?
Button config menu where is this i am in work atm but i will check later on.
So there os no other controller available that can mimic the ps4 controller?

there are, but as i said only wired and they are even more expensive than the original dualshock 4
check the button remap menu, if thats not causing it just disassemble the controller. clean it, and put it back together, maybe something inside fucked up cause you spilled beer over it. havent disassemble a ds4 but it should be similar to the ds3 (which wasnt a problem at all to do)
havent my ps4 connected atm, but just crawl through the system settings. there is a point for remapping buttons since a few firmwareversions which afaik only apply ingame and not in the menu (that would explain why it works fine there). think it was Settings -> Accessibility -> Button Assignments

I have taken it apart, the only think that it could be is the white cord that atratches to either side inside the controller as it is warped n looks a bit knackered.

Bought a DS4 today for 50€, upgrading from my old DS1 bundled with my PSOne way waaaaaaaay back.
It's pretty good so far, now I need to get a bigger cable and/or a bluetooth adapter to check the wireless stuff

What software you are using with it? I have 2 DS4s and in recent time pretty much every software seems to be buggy as fuck.
