Leave Scarface alone! one of the greatest movie ever...
Al Pacino can't be compared to the shity actors from today. just remember the drunk scene at the fancy restaurant; the grotesque living of an uneducated lowliving latino; the Miami of those days (pretty much the same as from today, with the big buildings made of ilegal money) and as the big final candy of the story, that mountain of cocaine who drived a regular guy into a madman. "say hello to my little friend"
this represents the todays lack of imagination in Hollywood in creating a new story...
i'm sorry i'm not a yoyo pot smoking rappin' gangsta wannabe that praises a shitty movie becuase pop culture told me that to be a gangster I must in my life time experience the scarface and love it unconditionally.
it's a cult movie... it's not a great movie... it's just a cult movie. just like reservoir dogs...

Style over substance is all scar face ever was. Pacino is a good actor but scar face is not what he should be remembered for.
well scarface 83 is a remake of scarface 32 with paul muni so a re-remake isnt that strange an idea. But yeah Im not keeping my hopes up for the 2014 remake starring... Shia Ledouche
Dont mess with God, he can impregnate your girlfriend/wife without taking his pants off!
Its still does not deserve to be shit on by modern day Hollywood thiugh.

I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
Al Pacino is good.
The movie however is quite substandard.
People are praising it because it's a classic, and have a lot of "feelings"/memories and nostalgia associated with it. It's like an old car.
I can understand the desire to praise it for the good old memories. But as a movie it is a B-movie. Just like many of the old "classics", when you rewatch them today they are cheesy at best, full of bad acting and low-quality production and terrible writing and dialogue at worst.
Personally I'm glad to see quality television (The Wire/House of Cards/Sopranos/Homeland etc.) and movies (Nolan's Batman-series, Oldboy, Million Dollar Baby, Pan's Labyrinth) of the 2000's.
The movie is not even close to my top 25 ever, but a remake with Shia Laboeuf and/or Ryan Gosling? (doesn't have anything to do with acting skills, they just don't fit Pacino's shoes).

i'd rather have SS Chevelle than Smart for 2 or whatever it's called
Scarface, Casino, Goodfellas will never be a B movie, at least for me
Ahead of the release of his western remake”The Magnificent Seven” next month, filmmaker Antoine Fuqua is reportedly in talks with Universal Pictures to direct a new take on a screen classic.
Fuqua is presently negotiating to direct “Scarface,” a third version of the crime drama previously made by Howard Hawks in 1932 and Brian DePalma in 1983. The new one once again follows an immigrant who rises to power in the underworld.
This time though the setting isn’t Chicago or Miami but contemporary Los Angeles. Jonathan Herman penned the most recent draft following earlier versions by Paul Attanasio and David Ayer.
Marty Bregman, Marc Shmuger, Scott Stuber, and Dylan Clark will produce.

Nah, I think that fuqua more than proved that training day was a fluke by now.
Most of what he released after that was mediocre at best, at least the ones I saw (Tears of the Sun, Shooter, Olympus and Equalizer)
Also I agree, it's as necessary as that roboderp remake was

I find this reboo more insulting than the others. However I'm partially relieved by the fact that they're not planning to do a Scarface with Aimee Garcia as Tonita Montana and Amy Schumer as Mannita Ribera...yet!
That did not take long, a contender to top ghostbusters as most uninspiring derp bait film. I dont know where they can go from here, remaking schindlers list?
