One of the comments under the article nails it..."the game looks good but this is the first time I've heard of it". There was almost no marketing and no word of mouth.
Next time rethink your game controls
There probably hundreds of small indie teams that doesn't get the recognition they should have and their products flop with better games than this.

Not a simple task among mammoths for sure, although personally I had seen some development posts about this game.
They were mentioned a few times on RPS. I got hot on it from there but I was prepared for something more arcadish than tank tracks simulator with fast paced shooting and weird aiming.

Yep, the controls were the main reason i uninstalled the game shortly after trying the game.
good news for ya Bobita Brigador v1.11 patch and new movement scheme

26 AUGUST - BOSS TWEED
Hello everyone! We just went live with a big update. In addition to some balance changes and new Lore entries, we now have alternative control schemes available in the game. In addition to the controller support added last patch, we now have a more traditional 'twin-stick' style movement scheme - pressing 'W' will move your vehicle up on the screen rather than forwards at your current orientation. We also have some additional variants for how this alternative control scheme orients on your screen.
We still strongly recommend tank controls, as this is what the game is designed for and once learned we believe will provide the best player experience, however we've received a lot of feedback regarding controls and based on that have made these changes.
If you're playing with the new control scheme and are having issues with vehicle orientation, we have a toggle in the settings to set your vehicle to *always* move forward. Additionally, I'll be looking to fine tune how and when exactly each playable vehicle chooses to move forwards or backwards based on player input - the current update is a broad pass that I'll be going through again over the next week.
To anyone who refunded the game or gave up based on difficulty with the controls, we hope you come back and try out this new scheme.
Awesome news!
Sadly it took them so long to implement that control scheme.
Will put the game back on my wishlist again though. Waiting for a good deal.

Brigadors! We're proud to announce the game will re-launch on June 2nd as a free update, a special thanks to all of you for sticking with us.
The changes include:
A new intro campaign
New pilots and playable vehicles
Achievements
Complete rebalance of difficulty to better ease in new players
Localization to German, Russian, Japanese, French, Spanish, & Brazilian Portuguese
A few more things we're keeping secret for now
In the mean time, we've used your feedback to guide today's Design Bureau update, which includes a major rebalance to all weapons, better descriptions for weapons and campaign loadouts, more LORE (we always have time for more LORE), an FAQ section with a more thorough explanation of gameplay mechanics, and three new playable vehicles: The Spacer Zöllig Heavy mech, the Loyalist Kilgore Ultra tank, and the Corvid Canavan Light anti-grav.
Oh! Shit I missed the fact that they made changes to the movement scheme.

Now i'm sad i didn't get this months Humble Monthly.
i got spare one if you got anything interesting i dont own to trade
If you give me the Brigador key I will give you whatever the fuck chrono.gg are giving for coins. "There's poop in my soup" and "Reverse crawl" for now. These are the best games, it is the best deal, believe me, I have the best deals.
In case anyone is interested, there's a release for the new version (Razor1911 - but it's actually the gog one, they don't even try anymore xD). The fun factor is there, an old-school pew-pewer with very detailed visuals for a 2D game and a nifty complete destruction system, me likey.
I didn't try the original 1.0 version back then, but from what I can tell this one controls nicely without any major issues or annoyances. The campaign tutorial is actually too long for its own good, though after all the initial overly-easy missions things start getting more interesting (including the levels themselves that open up).
Brigador Killers is an intense story-driven isometric action game. Can a hit team strike in enemy territory & still get out alive? Brigador's carnage spills onto a new planet, with revised controls and all-new story
This was a fantastic read, applicable to pretty much any industry not just games. The sad reality is the marketing pitch and brand is everything, product/service half the time doesn't even rate a top 5 priority for making dollars. It's good to see they have stuck it out and are trying something new, wish them the best. I own the original and played it a few hours (seem to remember some user here saying it was his friends game or something), the game presents well enough to have made some dollars, but its paper thin on gameplay and you will get bored within a couple of hours.
As a game developer there are plenty of great examples out there that can put you on the path to $ucce$$, look how NMS hipster, Dean Hall, Molyneux and Chris Roberts or any big publisher sell their games. That's is what your customer is looking for to relinquish his funds, aim for it.
they should be pitching this game as machine learning AI, fully simulated universe, possible to trade mechs be a pirate or run a business etc.
