I finished the game a few months ago and it was the GOG version, I've noticed a CODEX version that is complete with and the DLC's and updates on usenet.
Can I use my GOG save game with the CODEX version?

What a retarded video seriously.
Game stutters like shit, and the FPS counter looks like videoshopped.

Really awful playing like this would literally make me sick it should run much better, drivers are probably still total shit and he's running a Fx-8350@stock well shouldn't make a huge difference like this but still.
So far im not impressed from the rx 480 between the power problems and the performance which is worse then a gtx 970 that is also cheaper atm here in euroland i don't see this thing becoming a hit especially if the rumors of the gtx 1060 are true.

Anyone tried the Random Encounters mod? http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/785/?
Seems pretty great, since one thing i don't like is the MMO-feel of the enemies in this game, feels straight out of WoW how they are just walking quickly back and forth in a very limited space. You can stand still at one spot in the game for 20 mins and never be attacked because there doesnt seem to be any free roaming enemies at all.
The mod doesn't work for me at all though, shows up under "mods" in-game, but doesn't do a thing.

yes same here but i read through them, most or all of those are resolved or is written by people who seems to be using other mods and they have a conflict.
Thinking of reinstalling the game and see if it solves it.. sucks that its a huge game with all the DLC's hehe

Hmm i might have that Random Encounter mod working after all.. When/where is the Wild Hunt warriors supposed to spawn? Never seen those before. I had a 4-5 of them + a Wraith spawn at the same time in the middle of nowhere in Velen. I'm level 17. Does that sound like the mod, or something which should just happen there?

Wild Hunt pretty much doesn't spawn outside story missions (with 2 or 3 exceptions in caves and such), so yes, it's the mod working.

Good to know, thanks!
Really enjoying the game, probably gonna end up being my favorite RPG of all time, surpassing games like Gothic 2 and Morrowind.. Makes me wonder how long until we will get something similarly great in a fantasy universe. I hope the whole crew at Bethesda plays this game to death (and not FarCry or AssCred series) and takes a LOT of inspiration from it for the next TES.

I highly doubt that. In fact, the chances of what you outlined happening are just about zero.
ON: I might finally have some decent amount of spare time to start this game. Should I play it with or without mods at first? In case of the former, which mods do you guys recommend?

Obviously Bethesda has to be up-to-date with what's currently available as free roaming action-RPG's, so no its not impossible that they take cues from TW3 when it comes to some of its design. And obviously the TW3 team was inspired by games such as Skyrim. Nothing strange. If it wasnt for Bethesda i doubt CDPR would have included swimming, diving and jumping, because people wouldnt really expect it or demand it.
This is how the whole gaming market works actually, companies constantly have to check other hi-rated games to make sure they are up-to-date with what gamers (and reviewers) are expecting.. Obviously sometimes companies takes cues from games we'd hope they'd instead stay clear off, but those games sold so much that it got the devs/publishers attention.
TW3 sold 10 million copies, that's a good figure and a receipt they did a lot of things right so yes, they have other game devs attention for sure, including Bethesda..

I should have reacted to the 2nd part of your statement only. So here goes: seeing how Bethesda's games have been gradually and overly streamlined, simplified and made accessible (read: ) as of late, I kind of expect them to turn TES 6 into a dumb-ass game, unfortunately; and not take ideas or inspiration from The Witcher series. I'm talking about proper game mehanics, mind you, such as C&C, great dialogues, NPCs and stroy, etc. - definitely not about swimming, diving and whatnot (who the fuck cares, honestly...).
Upon hindsight, Skyrim was almost a proper cRPG in terms of game mechanics compared to the utter dipshit that is Fallout 4. I'm torturing myself to play it through (FO4, that is), but I've really lost interest.

Yes it's worrying. FO has never done as well for them as TES though, so maybe they felt it was necessary to dumb it down to get the numbers up for this series a bit. Skyrim sold 22.7m copies and its their best selling game, FO4 is not anywhere near that i believe (12m copies i think i read somewhere).

To be fair, had TW3 not have jump, swimming and diving, I would rate it a lot lower. At this day and age, these should be mandatory. Fable, Kingdoms of Amalur didn't have it, and those games' map/level design suffered for it.
I always thought Skyrim was a streamlined piece of shit, nearly devoid of mechanics and features that qualifies it as a RPG, until FO4. Great open world action adventure though.
Skyrim is somehow the better RPG because despite actually having dialogue options, something Skyrim didn't, FO4 kills roleplaying constantly with its writing and quest design, just the general restriction with its quest structure.

Indeed.. Fable was terrible, i couldnt play that after being very used to games such as TES, Ultima and Gothic. I mean you couldnt even go into the forest, you had to walk on the path that lead you through it.. lol. Glad we are getting past this in RPGs.
To be fair TW3 is not a "proper" RPG in many ways either. The "role" part especially, goes against the whole idea of roleplaying. Its still a great game overall though, but TES does this part a whole lot better. All their games are best when heavily modded, preferably as survival RPG's (at least imo)..
