As someone that was very big into Smite and got tired of it and its clusterfuck of a balance, I find this one pretty cool from what I've seen on stream. Might get into it when possible, seems to bring some fresh things to the table too. Hope my shitpile of a PC can run it though, heh.

I run it on a 780 Ti, couple of settings Epic, the rest high. Runs great at 70-80, which sometimes drops to 50 and then at the moment it drops it stutters, but this lasts like .5-1 sec at a time and rarely.

Unreal Engine is usually pretty scaleable.

Yes, I've heard that it's pretty well optimized already, Epic showing they know their own engine well, as they should, I guess. Still have fears since I have the PC I have.

Yes, it run pretty good since Alpha, but I have an Intel CPU. But there are some known internal issues with UE4 when it comes to AMD CPUs and I'm not sure how the game runs for those using AMD.

Getting kills in this game is the most awesome I have felt about getting kills in a MOBA ever. Very Happy

The aesthetic design is spot on.

Ye that last shot you fire to kill someone feels amazing, like u just blew up the entire world ahah

This game is pretty awesome, i love smite too, its my most played moba... that beeing said, i have 3k hours in league of legends and 1.5k hours in dota, and to me, this game feels great, its a lot of fun, it brings a good mix of a third person shooter/beatem up toghether with the moba aspect..

In smite the shooting isnt rly fleshed out ( there are no guns ahah) and the beatem up aspect is also kinda nerfed, in paragon you rly feel the weight in the melee atacks, it feels great, even those that slow you down, you can rly feel it, the animations are spot on.

Ok. I put around 20 hours in to this.

It's still rough around the edges, but reading up on the official forums, Epic has been very open to changes based on community feedback in the past. This IS early access in the true sense of the word, it is not feature complete and not feature locked.

That being said, the game is very much fun, it is very pleasing, and it has been a very long time since I have played a MOBA I enjoyed so much.

Comes recommended.

damn the prices on this game, 20 $ for 3 heroes...really?oh and 60 for 13 way to go, i presume that you can buy new heroes with in game currency but how much will one hero be?

ok so after reading some more i'm at a lost.

Is this game F2P and the packs only offer skins and such ?

The game is going to be F2P but the packs allow you early access beyond the open beta.
All heroes are unlocked, the "3", "13", and "39" heroes you see in those packs allow you to do the master challenge for those heroes. Master challenge increases XP gains for that hero and unlocks the challenger and master skin.

Played two rounds (1x vs bots, 1x vs humans).

The only good thing were the graphics.
Rest of the game is your typical slow ass MOBA crap. And i guess this will be F2P (or rather P2W) too? As there are a few unlocks already for special currency.

I also really dislike games now, where your skills still consume mana/energy/whatever. Putting them on a high enough cooldown is enough IMO.

Meh, pass and forget about this game.

I've been playing this actively for at least 3 weeks now.
It got me off of The Division, that POS. Didn't even play the latest patch because I couldn't log in and also read about the issues on the latest patch on reddit, fuck The Division but that's for another topic...

Paragon has some rough edges but that's to be expected for an early access game. Pros and cons, but overall I think it's a nice change to the existing moba offering. I've played over 2000 matches in Hots and I tried but can't get back into it after playing Paragon.
The graphics are nice, the cam/perspective is refreshing, card collecting and deck building is fun... I don't know, I guess you either love it or hate it. I love it! Smile

Give it some more time yo, I could use an active/skilled player to queue up with. Smile I'm still holding on to a founders key that I'm reserving for that some one. Smile

It's going to be F2P and about the P2W, I guess you'd be right. While they say, that card packs can only be purchased using in-game currency (which needs to be grinded) in the same turn they offer a boost to that currency, contradicting their statement.

On the other hand I've never boosted and I have most important cards already. As far as uniques are concerned I have about 190/260. You get by without paying ...

I have a founders pack to give away.
Who wants to get in on this?

Please know what kind of game you are getting into, so that the key doesn't go to waste. Wink

I'm enjoying it, more than 17 days of playtime already...

I've been playing this some and lime it so far. I wish they had tried to be a bit more innovative in some ways. The cards are an interesting approach and they fact that you can play any character, is cool, even if you don't get the xp bonuses and such if they aren't "unlocked". I have a friend who only has PS4 and no PC, so it's cool to be able to play cross-platform with him. I got hooked up with a key that had 3 heroes unlocked. Seems expensive or very time consuming to unlock the others. Wish it wasn't so grindy in nature though. It's not really p2w I don't think, but your power is limited because your cards are very limited at first, which is unfortunate imo.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/epic-shutting-down-paragon-on-april-26-offering-full-refund-for-all-purchases.19144/

Dies on April 26th, full refunds offered for everybody.

Quote:

Hey Everyone,

It’s with heavy hearts we’ve decided to close down Paragon.

We truly appreciate everything you’ve put into Paragon. We received many passionate ideas for where to take the game; the outpouring of thoughtful suggestions is another testament to this incredible community.

After careful consideration, and many difficult internal debates, we feel there isn’t a clear path for us to grow Paragon into a MOBA that retains enough players to be sustainable.

We didn’t execute well enough to deliver on the promise of Paragon. We have failed you -- despite the team’s incredibly hard work -- and we’re sorry.

To try to make this right, Epic is offering a full refund to every Paragon player for every purchase on any platform. This refund will come directly from Epic rather than your platform provider.

To request your refund, follow these steps:

If you’re not playing on PC, link your Epic account (create one if necessary).
If you play on PC, or have already linked your Epic account, you can request your refund here.

We’ll continue operating Paragon servers until April 26, 2018. As the player population continues to decrease, matchmaking times and quality will further degrade.

Thank you for joining us on this journey and for your dedication to Paragon.

Fortnite took over I guess so Epic is likely banking on that instead.

Thanks for the heads up JBeckman. Not playing this anymore but I paid 70 EUR in 2016. Very nice of them to offer refunds for all purchases. Smile

Now if they would only allow me to refund Fortnite I'd get another 400 EUR or so. Very Happy

Wonder if it's mostly a reaction to PUBG though it seems Fortnite has more planned than Battle Royale.

Though the PUBG devs must be pretty happy how that exploded in popularity and then there's the market content too, sure Valve takes a cut out of each but selling the game for say 60 Euro / USD and then the desirability of certain vanity or cosmetic only items sees them selling for upwards of a 1000 Euro / USD ha ha.
(I forgot exactly how much the overall sales are split but I think it's somewhere like 20% / 20% for the dev and Valve and then the remainder to the seller but with a lot of items in circulation that's still plenty of cash for both Valve and the game developers.)

And while it's not the same prices the regular loot chests and such are selling really well too even outside of the vocal minority and calls for regulations, last I heard it's going to be added in even more games as a response of it's overall popularity.

Seems both Paragon and Fortnite has systems like that though, Paragon now going EOL also cut the prices for this content for the last few months and what do you know, game is going away but people are now buying even more so Epic might be able to earn back a bit of the development expenses from that even if total sales might not have been enough to keep the game active and instead they're shifting focus over to Fortnite.

PUBG is not a full price game, it costs 30 euros for a while now. And Steam takes about 30% if no special contract is signed.

I doubt Epic are making money on Paragon now since they are refunding full-price buys from years ago Exclamation

They obviously are making money hand over fist on Fortnite so killed Paragon without caring about losing some money and have suspended UT development to focus on FN. They are going full in on that one.

Personally I don't understand how people play this cartoony shit.
