Those look like sex
But also they look like they would heat up and grill my head after few minutes. Especially during summer

ugh, buddy of mine that I sold my AKG K7xx to was telling me about those cause I was looking at Fostex. Should ask him if it has a removable cable, cause if it doesn't then hell with that.
I was wondering..did onboard audio improve for the last couple of years? I've been using a Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic since 2007 and I want to buy a new rig this year. Is the onboard audio these days at least on par with my 9 year old soundcard? And is it still worth it to purchase a soundcard for the audio I have? Which are a Logitech Z2300 and a Sennheiser 558.

Of course not. The XtremeMusic still has much better components than on board audio.
Instead of buying a card, get a DAC/AMP combo (either all-in-one or separate); it will be cheaper and sound better than the so called "pro" or "gamer" audio cards.
There are onboard audio that will sound better than Xtreme music, but those chips are only in mobos that costs like 400-500 eur. Been using for months now Xonar Essencu STU dac with my Genelec setup, very good sound, has also headphone amp, can highly recommend this.

I have not seen one motherboard to have high quality digital to analog components. Not that XtremeMusic has high quality ones, but at least it has much better isolation, something that even top tier motherboards don't properly have. Even when I was with my HD 555, and there was no place for my old XtremeGamer anymore, I figured I'd be fine with the supposedly "high quality" components of the on board. Terrible; and there was a severe addition of noise.
Sound Blaster ZXRi what is on some Gigabyte high end boards have very good isolation and uses Burr-Brown 127dB DAC, along with some very good nichicon caps, im pretty sure XtremeMusic doesnt have any changes against this onboard sound.
Probably worth trying, though if I was going to get some cans from that company it'd be their Planar Magnetic headphones, can't imagine they're doing anything different on these than other headphones in that price range already does.

I'm tempted to pull the trigger on them, but EU import taxes would probably make the price pretty meh in the end. They're just $99 after all, and I bought the Fidelio X2 for about $170 not too long ago, and I can still return them if I wish.
Decided to waste some money on the Strix Raid DLX. I have a Xonar STX, and while it's good i've grown tired of the software/drivers.
I'll let this gentlemen speaking in a language I can't understand ramble about it -
Anyways, useless video aside spec wise it seems very close to what the STX/STX II are although it has some welcomed changes such as having a six pin PCI-E power connector vs. Molex. My STX is literally the only device I have left that uses a stupid molex plug.
Amazon have a great sale on Sennheiser goods ATM , so grabbed another pair of HD598's (the SE version in black, as they should be), as it's a pain sharing them with my siblings
Solderin'? Ain't nobody got time for that
But since it's been a while after the last repair job I've done ofc I wasted my time thinking that the issue was on the jack (which really has some shitty design) and butchered that
After some testing with a new jack soldered I opened the right can and voila, it was as simple as that

Bought Kingston HyperX Cloud headset for gaming, and damn these are good cans, i mean very good... Sounds so damn nice when using headphone amp (53mm drivers, bass is very good and sound quality is pure hifi, not some gaming headset crap, these are same as Takstar Pro 80). Probably the best 50 euros what i have spent (they were -20% and had coupon to get another -20% off). The amount of accessories what is included is insane, velour pads included aswell along with real lether pads, carrying pouch and extension cables, insane value for the price.
I'm fed up with the stupid superlux hd668b
the sound is perfect
but the design is fucking retarded
my head hurts if I wear them for more than 2 hours
how can stupid 10eur headphones have better ergonomy than 60eur ones?!
any suggestions in the ~50eur range?
@Breezer_ what's the difference between cloud and cloud 2?
and they cost 100eur here
and there are some revolver, costs 125eur
Cloud is always good,
Creative Aurvana Live is always good
Porta pro is great if You like open on ears

Cloud 2 has cheap ass USB soundcard, revolver has new design aesthetically (looks retarded imo) and has smaller 50mm drivers with different sound signature. Superlux ones are very nice sound quality wise, but they are pain to wear indeed, Clouds are like pillows on your ears, cant feel them at all, very comfortable (they are also very nicely built, feels like they can withstand shitloads of abuse).
