On point though, Will Smith is going to ruin the movie. He's never played a villain and doesn't have what it takes to be a ruthless killer. He's going to 180 the character into some misunderstood bafoon and try showing the shining light.

Apparently every single joke the movie had was already shown in the funny trailer and audiences responded very favorably to it so Warner got scared that audiences will feel betrayed when they find out the rest of the movie doesn't have any.

We already know that before filming even began, he sent Joker-inspired gifts to his co-stars, including a live rat to Margot Robbie, a set of bullets to Will Smith and a dead pig to the entire cast.
And now Leto just told me he also sent everyone...used condoms and anal beads!
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plays Killer Croc, says he received "sticky Playboy magazines" from Leto, but he also revealed what happened when the dead pig arrived.

A female-focused spin-off is being developed with Margot Robbie leading as Harley Quinn and also producing the movie. Batgirl and Birds of Prey are also tossed around as names of characters that could be part of the movie.
It's still very early in development so who knows if it will be made and what it will be about..
The idea was Robbie's who started reading DC comics for her role in Suicide Squad and was inspired by the female characters and brought a female writer and pitched it to the studio.
