Well actually I'm talking about the newer colonies edition of it. Not the original version which I know works fine.

Colonies worked just fine for me but perhaps that doesn't really matter as I used a key from the game "The Club" where SEGA gave out free keys for a while.

Ofcourse all Live! titles so far have also been playable with a so called offline profile where you don't enter a serial number and only access the singleplayer parts of the game.
(Unsure how this feature works with clone releases though.)

Thanks for the replies. Yeah first it had 0's in for serial one each, I removed them and hit continue or whatever. It installed fine. I swap the laucnher.exe blah blah it comes up theres start or exit, hit start it goes right into sign into windows live blah blah. There is no option for just single player start , it just right into live login.

Try to create a profile, you still need one to get into the game but it shouldn't require a serial. Smile

Anyone else confused or unsure, yes create a new profile( I tried logging in with real live account) leaving it player 1, no password, and it will THEN bring up the play offline option.

Thanks for your patience dude.

I got into early previous gen nostalgia and launched Lost Planet.
Holy wow !
The game holds up incredibly well aside from horrible story but that was always part of the curse.
Animation is still fantastic, it handles super well and graphics still look great. I love snow atmosphere.
But the explosions and chaos is just as I remember.

I have extreme conditions version on steam. This is the good one right?
Isny it that the colonies edition requires gfwl?
Also. Any other games like this?

Playing some Lost Planet again (normal edition since Colonies is broken and crashes)
Holy shit - 2019 and it still have the best explosions in a video game. The per object motion blur is still among the best I've seen. Maybe only better in doom 2016.
The mech combat in night mission 7 is just dayum !

Always wanted to play through these but really put of by that constant heat timer counting down. I hate being rushed in games.

The heat timer don't matter. You get heat from containers, enemies and everything.

I played Lost Planet 1 and 2 also just a few years ago. Iirc back then, it was one of the first games forcing DX10 on us (and therefor away from XP).

9 and 10 for the first game, 11 for the second as I remember but it might have been 9 and 11 since it was before DirectX 11 totally dominated the graphics API segment. Very Happy

Forgot if it auto detected or had different exe files though, was a early adopter to Windows Hasta La Vista and it's numerous early problems with x64 and developers being forced to adapt to Microsofts (For the better.) changes though come SP1 it was fairly smooth and then Windows 7 would make it better still.

Nope, not true, even the demo supported DX9 and XP along with DX10 and Vista.

Yeah it was the first game which made me switch to vista for dx10. It was a great system after sp1.

Jesus fuck that first page of posters brings back memories.

Iced Freon.....had the fastest internet, had releases before some of us could even turn our computers on and would have the game beaten by the time we got the game installed.
