Not all games use it but UE4 (And UE3 actually.) has a slider value for resolution scale, should be in the options somewhere if it can be set from within the game itself and not just the ini file.
100 / 100% means it renders at the selected screen resolution, 50% would mean it renders at half that res (sub-sampling.) and 150% would mean it renders at a 1.5x the screen res (supersampling.)
ARK is one of the earlier UE4 games using the slider, I think it even defaults to a below-100 value so unless you adjust it the game will be rendered at a lower resolution.
(UE3 uses this as well but for UE4 you can exceed 100 to supersample instead of just subsample. )
Well, I've only noticed something like that if the screen percent slider is not at 100%
What's that? Where to find this option and what is the default? Cause I believe I'm running mostly default values.
I only clicked [AUTO DETECT] on video tab for gfx settings I think.
First slider form the top in gfx tab in the setting inside the game. When you hover over it, it displays a tooltip explaining almost exactly what you've asked about - that it's rendering the game at x percent of the native resolution and upscales, without touching the UI.
I just thought I would inform you guys that this project is pretty dead. A friend of mine who worked at epic was fired recently for trying and attempting to fix, add competitive mechanics, matchmaking etc. To the game. They have around 1-2 people working on it at most and are mostly focused now on Fortnite and their new MOBA. It's a shame that tennecent bought half of epic.

Hope it can still receive the love that it deserves, but I imagine the future ain't bright if this is the scenario
I mean, a hardcore anti-couch competitive shooter released for free, by greedy Epic nonetheless, it was too good to be true when you think about it xD

Really?? I guess they realized paragon is where its at, that game had way more development time than this game had over 2 years so far..its a shame though, but, as much as i love UT, i gotta admit, if i had to pick one game, i would pick paragon, its in a much better state than the UT game and its just a safer bet for them ofc, with the crossplay ps4 and all..and beeing a moba.
I HIGHLY doubt that the development of this UT is nowhere near dead.
the development not. just the community, because it so small and also they will never release it on steam or so, so it will stay this way. no one gives a fuck about epic these days anymore but they still think they are up there with blizzard and others. seems like they need to learn this the hard way. sure if they just want some oldfags play some matches on the weekend, it will be a great success. if they want full servers 24/7 and a huge community then they will fail hard, if they continue like this.
and the game itself will suck anyway because of all the ut99 fanboys wanting shitty movement back and stuff. they can't make everyone happy but the still try to do it.
i love ut 2004 and i will be back as soon as they release something similiar, with many gamemodes, complex movement, many maps and also a huge community. until then the game is dead for me and if you look at the player base im not the only one.
The information I bring is the truth, and, its unfortunately sad, while its not completely dead look at the slow progress. What I meant was UT4 is on the back burner at the moment. A lot of community members who contributed to the development have moved over to making a mod called "Unreal Prime" theres a few youtube videos.
I can't tell you the difference becuase I haven't really played UT4 Alpha or Unreal Prime but heres a video for you guys who play UT4 so you can see what Unreal Prime is.

- Movement tweaks to sliding and acceleration.
- Weapon functionality and balance tweaks to Redeemer, Rocket Launcher, Flak Cannon, and Impact Hammer shield.
- Bot AI improvements
Just fired this up. Last time I gave it some more time, because it had input lag, and you just can't play like that.
Anyway, that seems a lot better now.
Loaded up an instagib server full of players for the first time in years.
Cleaned the fucking house, I did. Man, it's like I haven't missed a beat. This game. So good. So cool. Blood pumping. Arena shooters are the only shooters worth playing. Fast thinking and fast hands.
This thing still exists?..Well, nice to see improvements etc..

Slowly but steady the game becomes better. Its shaping up well I think, but would be nice if it was on Steam.
Yep, it would probably boost the playerbase by quite an amount.
I'm not sure how many people are playing this currently. But when i checked it out some months ago, it felt rather dead with just a handful of servers available.

Forget about this game Epic is putting all its effort on making Fortnite into a battle royale game. I guess they like money. UT4's business model must have been born in the mind of a heroin junkie.
