So I just got myself a 30 day netflix account (the one which should have HD and max 2 devices at once accessing it).

Well and most stuff that I tried doesn't have HD. The fuck is this? I'll cancel my sub at the end and just extend my usenet acc if the quality is this shitty Sad

When I had a subscription a year or so ago (Swedish netflix) most of the stuff didn't have HD available.

1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Netflix has plenty of HD releases, there are of course some that aren't (farscape for example).

I tried it out and most of it was worse quality than I could get, was also rather limited in content (Netflix Sweden 2 years ago). So I decided it's nice for most people, but not for someone like me.

holy shit there's 8K now?

I've looked at 4K TV's in the past and they look amazing, they were still a bit too expensive for my budget though. One day...

your isp may not be paying enough to netflix to provide HD content Cool Face

Try using hola and check US netflix to see... could be that your .gov doesn't like netflix and has a deal with local broadcasters and therefore limits what netflix has to offer / how netflix delivers. To sully the experience whilst netflix still getting $$$, .gov gets their share from broadcasters, isp gets some of that $$$ and broadcasters get to broadcast their shows in awesome HD whilst netflix is SD lolololololololololololololololol

try .USD netflix, for gooder content try .co.uk netflix as well.

usually .de netflix sucks cause of what nazis did Cool Face

ultra hd is the preamble for 4k and 8k yes. think its only house of cards which is available at 4k and some nature "demos"? and your tv must be capable of it (if you using smart tv with app). and im with waldoj, use us netflix if you want to watch series. german catalog is small compared to the us one

Are you trying it on PC? 4K is not available on PC, only TVs and such.

I wonder what's their reasoning behind this...
Hopefully they'll change that in the near future.

Edit:
I just saw that there's 4K streaming onto an Nvidia Shield....but not on PC. Laughing

No problems with HD on Netflix here. Usually it takes a few seconds before the HD loads in, but that's it.

This, it starts with low quality to fill the cache, then goes HD when possible. Besides on the settings you can choose the maximum quality.

Hope you all have unlimited download quotas from your ISP.. a single 4K movie could be a hefty 20-40GB download let alone 4K 40min episode TV shows! Shocked

Hey guys now you can watch the entire catalogue of content Netflix has to offer in every Country from an app called Smartflix. Very Happy

https://www.smartflix.io/

It has all the options you normally have.

Give it a shot, very legit and lightweight app that runs like the windows 10 Netflix app.

Spoke to the guy on his website, he'll be charging a one time $8 fee after the initial 1st free month.

Also

Netlfix in Google Chrome and Firefox only play in 720p

Safari and Microsoft Edge can go upto 1080p (So can the Windows Netflix app)

Here are some shortcuts to override Netflix's default video quality and content server settings

Once you start playing a Movie or TV Show

Press -

Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S = Video bitrate, Audio Bitrate and Content Server Override Toggles, (5800 being the highest video bitrate which is 1080p)

Ctrl+Shift+Alt+D = overlay Info about the same stuff above and more, you can see the various bitrates corresponding to the resolutions.

Cheers!

Supposedly Netflix is working on getting rid of territorial content restrictions and have all content available globally. Hard to say how much success they will get with this or how soon (if at all) they will manage, but it's nice to know that they intend to make it happen.

Smartflix looks like Popcorn Time. How is the quality?
(popcorn time has lot of YIFY and other encoded crap)

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
