Adds a bunch of Styles and extra features to the game, giving more options to play.

JEiS changes/adds a LOT of things in the game, so depending on how big of a purist you are, you might want to play the first time around as vanilla. You'll want to play it through twice anyway, so you can keep the mods for the 2nd playthrough. Razz

This, exactly this Smile Hey inz, I don't suppose you have a perfect 360 controller config do you? I tried JE a few months back and the controls were friggin' hideous Sad

I never bothered tbh, it seemed like a massive headache to get it working even halfway right, let alone getting perfectly functioning triggers etc. Not that I looked into the issue that closely, I almost always prefer to play with M&KB - JE wasn't that bad if I recall correctly. Very Happy

Was actually going to replay it soon, so I'll look into how the controller manages these days. There's loads of threads about it on the steam forums and other places, someone's bound to have found a decent solution.

I remember trying the M/K and it just felt wrong somehow. I'm definitely going to try again soon, I loved Jade Empire! I also want another replay of Sudeki, which for some reason always reminded me of JE in a way.

Think I played a few hours total back when it was first released for the Xbox; by the time the PC release came out, it got condemned to the 9th circle of backlog, from which mortal games cannot ever hope to escape.

I just can't help but laugh at that terrible cover; must've cost them more than a few sales back in the day. Very Happy

The cover is dumb as shit, you'll get no argument out of me on that one, but the game is excellent. One of my absolute favourite Xbox titles and it was even better on the PC.

Yeah, requires Origin without a crack. But some people have legit stuff on Origin already no doubt, and free is free.

It's reasonably short by standards of today's open world behemoths. Your mileage may vary depending on how many side-quests you do I guess, but even then I would say it is shorter than its sibling KOTOR by a fair margin.

Sudeki was enjoyable as i remember going through it quite fast. Jade empire is a different, more complex game, with various combat styles to learn and quite good too, IMMO.

It's not my day for old games

Upon launching it, I get a message that it can't find Steam. Running as admin didn't work, so doing what another use said and putting a Steam dll file in the game dir did work.

Now the game simply crashes whenever it, or the configuration tool, launches.

I might buy the GOG version if nobody knows how to fix it. I'd rather not install Origin Embarassed

Edit: $20? Sad

Edit: Renaming the launcher exe to the main exe worked \o/

Edit: Ah, a 30FPS lock too Reaction I'd have deleted it if that couldn't be removed.

How long is the game anyway?

Pfft, fuck the framerate cap. Very Happy
http://www.gog.com/forum/jade_empire_special_edition/tip_uncap_30_fps_lock

Not a bad game in my opinion although a bit linear though some areas have a bit more to explore, some mini-game "bullet-hell" arcade stuff too oddly enough and eh furries. Very Happy
(Decent writing and you can actually have more than one romance - and even a same-sex romance I believe. - but I don't remember the game being all that long.)

EDIT: Ah you already removed the cap I see. Smile

EDIT: Well furry is a bit debatable perhaps but in ancient Chinese mythology I don't believe their fox goddesses and demi-deities and spirits and whatnot where big-breasted feminine scantily clad vixens. Razz
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=378426807
(More of a Japanese Kitsune / Neko type of thing that though I might be mixing up mythologies horrible by now, more of a viking thing here in the north, our sexy ladies were more akin to dryads "Skogsrå" I believe they were called and of course ugly witches and trolls.)

(And of course the Näcken our local pedophile naked man temptation spirit sitting bare-arsed in the river and playing the violin or what it was raping and drowing stuff, I don't remember too well from when I read up on old Nordic mythos when I was younger.)

(And elves, more akin to Faeries those, making people dance crazily until they die of exhaustion.)

EDIT: And of course Santa or well not that santa but smaller mean gray-clad gnome things driving extortion rackets where you had to offer them stuff or they'd fuck your farm up good. Razz
(They were pretty benign though, or well benign for Northern mythos at least as long as you "paid up" so to say.)

EDIT: Although it's not as creative as some of the Chinese and Japanese beings such as the "Kappa" balancing a bowl of water on it's head and sucking peoples souls out, from their anus.

You may want to cap it to 60fps via graphics driver profile (or other methods), otherwise I suspect it could get a bit crazy on high end systems.

Instead of doing a sequel or just a Remaster, they release it for the AppleOS

Please just do a remaster. They will gayify it so much if they do a sequel ...
