Which actor/actors just magically bind you to the screen?

I think for me it's Kurt Russel. There is not a single performance of him that I did not enjoy Smile And I like Jeff Bridges too but definitely not as much as Russel Very Happy

All of the above, but also recently I've developed something of a man crush for Oscar Isaac.

He's a chameleon.

I know this is highly subjective, but I think some answers here come from a point where you'd say "yeah, X was great in this movie, or his portrayel of character Y was spot on"... But I wanted to know which actor himself makes about every movie he is in watchable just because he is in it. F.e. Christoph Waltz is absolutely fantastic. But he has so many stupid direct to tv crap that I wouldn't watch JUST because he is in it.

I saw the trailer to Bone Tomahawk and I found it OK. I saw Kurt Russel and then I HAD TO SEE it!

My list follows your guidelines Very Happy I also thought about the memorabkle characters thing so I actively avoided falling into that trap when making my list, for instance I've enjoyed Bardem in every film I've watched where he starred, most of which are spanish films. Like you said, it's about actors that you always enjoy seeing in any role.

I would watch MOST films that have the actors I mentioned, however, I have to say that there is not a single actor or actress who didn't star in somewhat crappy (as I see them) films once in a while.. Even Kurt you mentioned was in some crappy films I couldn't finish watching. Very Happy Yes,his (or any other actor from my list) performance could be great, divine even lol, but if a film is crap then I won't watch it till the end credits regardless of who plays there. In my book a single actor cant' save a bad film however talented he or she is.

Okay, so I try to keep these lists short, because if every actor was named special, then none would. For me:

Actors:
Gary Oldman - numero uno, bro - by far. This guy imho is very talented.
Brad Pitt - I'm sure I had a crush on this guy once, and I'm 100% straight.
John Malkovich - don't know why, but this dude is, like ... fucking awesome.
Bruce Willis - he can't act, imho. Just one single type of person. But he glues me to the screen.

Some old timers: Paul Newman and Robert Redford - epic. Michael Cane - overhyped now, but still solid. Ben Kingsley is sharp as a fucking scalpel.

Actresses:
I like Emily Blunt. Dunno why. I do. She just turns me on, I guess Very Happy. All joking aside, few female characters pull off strong female characters well. She does.
Rebecca Hall - imho very talented, very precise.
Rosamund Pike - always liked her.

And then there are some I don't understand, why they are so popular: DiCaprio - I think he is the absolute definition of average acting.

When I was little, and before they completely gave up, Al Pacino and De Niro represented my idols when it came to more dramatic/demanding roles, I was mesmerized every single time. Then there was Clint Eastwood, and finally Arnie that covered all the rest.

Today there are several actors that consistently give me pleasant feelings, with their differences of course: Joaquin Phoenix, Denzel Washington, Matthew McConaughey, Daniel Day Lewis, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Jake Gyllenhaal, Leo Di Caprio, Mads Mikkelsen...and many others that I probably forgot. And also the good ol' Tom Cruise, say what you will but for me he's a certainty when it comes to the more action packed flicks. Very Happy

So you'd watch taken 3 just because he plays in it... i'd have rather suspected you to say Harrison Ford Laughing and I don't get the love for Tom hardy. I honestly disliked every single performance. He was in the warrior right? Batman? That ruskie movie? The revenant? Shit in every single one of them Sad

Haha, personally I do like his way to act in an oddball way, but I understand that others may just find him..bland. Razz I think that he actually gave his best in the smaller roles, like Bronson, Locke or The Drop for example.
