It should , but it doesn't. Even on the EA forum there are questions about the LAN capability and the fact that it's not working with the original game and a crossover cable.
Hamachi doesn't do the trick either, we changed the keys several times.

And the online account is only needed when you want to play online. The LAN option simply is f*cked imo.

With Hamachi you can find each other in network, but the moment you try to connect it keeps trying forever. Or it just closes the game when you stop trying.

I haven't seen any talk about the multiplayer part in the whole topic or in the tech forum either. I wish someone found a way to make it work tbh.

I said the original game doesn't support it either. Reading is hard I know but still, try.
But you don't know that, 'cause you don't own it either. Why even point it out to someone when you don't do it yourself. And don't tell me you own it, why would you be responding / reading this thread in the first place. Just to make you feel special ?


Anyway on topic.
Really no fix for this in any way then ? Or not even one soul who got it to work ?

Maximum heat level is 5, you'll get 6 at the end of the game for a final run Very Happy
And heat level 7 is only available in the black Edition challenge (69), every cop drives a black suv.

Hi! LAN play work perfekt, i have installed the game on my first pc and run it with image from CD1 on demon tools 4.00, to hide my virtual drives i have used a shortcut that i have created with STARFOCK tool 0.83 profile STARFurtz 3.49 WITHOUT patch CDRom fonction enabled. Work great( don't forgoth to give the new install folder from deamon in starfock's paramêtres
"DeAmon tool's 4.00 is: C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools"
"DeAmon tool's 3.47 is: C:\Program Files\D-Tools" (doesn't work).

Now i would play on lan with second computer, just i have past the game folder and theyr regkey to second computer create all same things to lauch the game with starfuck & deamon, LAN PLAY OK. Don't use a save game from first computer on the second computer otherwise LAN dosn't work.
Close ALL p2p progies otherwise LAN dosn't work

i wonthe game EASY since i won that lambo glardo from one of the black listers, he had SO much unique shit done to this car that it was practically a walk in the park from then on... i finished the game with it

NFSMWTomorrow EA will release the first patch for Need for Speed Most Wanted, which will update the game to the version 1.3. Here is a list of contents:

* Fixed problem with user not being returned to the offline main menu when losing their connection.
* Users are no longer returned to the offline main menu after a LAN race.
* Fixed host hanging in an empty game room after exiting a race.
* Users are now able to find LAN races created through Quick Race.
* Fixed issue where the game will softlock and lose focus when clicking on 'Continue' in the [create new account] screen when information is entered but not confirmed in one of the first four fields.
* Corrected number of laps in Knockout race event in Blacklist 15.
* Fixed problem where users are disconnected from LAN after finishing a race.
* Fixed issue with backround disappearing when mouse clicking the 'Statistics' button during the Hurry Up timer.
* Fixed a crash in the Foreign Registration Alert screen if the user clicks the back button.
* Fixed a crash when backing out and re-entering the Rap Sheet using the mouse.
* Clicking the back button during the Rap Sheet intro now returns the user to the Main Menu.
* Fixed issue with the interior of the car sometimes disappearing during gameplay.
* Fixed performance parts not showing up unless profile loaded.

however they didn't fixed or mentioned that they did extreme lag in singleplayer that billion of ppl have
