For the first time in the history of the franchise one of its directors returns to make a second one. And it's good thing if you ask me because I'm of the opinion that McQuarrie did a great job with Rogue Nation!
Just a couple of weeks ago McQuarrie's return was first rumored and now that it's been confirmed I hope the rest of the rumor turns out to be true as well: that Rebecca Ferguson might reprise her role as Ilsa Faust.
Production is likely to start in the summer.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Pre-production has been put on hold because Cruise wants more money and/or Paramount wants to pay him the same as the last movie or less. In any case the article says Paramount are not crazy to make the movie without Cruise, so one way or another the little disagreement they have will come to an end and the movie will be made just fine.

Seems like a petty move by Paramount. The last two MI were very successful, with Cruise seemingly having a streak of good and successful films. It's just stupid.
“We’re thrilled. Chris is back, obviously, writing and directing after Rogue Nation. We could not be more excited about the character Henry Cavill’s going to play. And I will say after the Burj [Khalifa] we thought it was going to be impossible to top that stunt, and then Tom did the A380 for the plane. What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that’s come before. It is absolutely unbelievable—he’s been training for a year. It is going to be, I believe, the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after Rogue Nation came out. It’s gonna be mind-blowing.”
The jump doesn't look *that* short (although the angle is not giving a clear view) and he is not young anymore. I am more surprised they let him do such stuff than that he was injured.
edit: Hm.. no, it doesn't look short at all to me!

It's alright, nothing to be afraid of really. Tom's personal Dianetics doctor is already exporting his timeless soul from the Supreme Being temple to the earthly new Cruise model 2.0, which looks 10 years younger and is equipped with 40% additional ligaments flexibility!
Today, British paper The Sun claims to have more details on the incident and say that the actor did ‘serious damage’ and has been left with two broken bones in his ankle requiring months of recovery. Their source claims it’s severe enough that filming will be postponed for four months: “The injury is worse than was at first feared. Tom did serious damage and will need months to recover. He is the film’s biggest star and everything revolves around him. The movie’s bosses had no choice other than to postpone the filming.”
Tom Cruise has been pictured back on the set of Mission: Impossible 6 for the first time since he broke his ankle during a tricky stunt gone wrong.
The actor, 55, was spotted getting to work on the movie in Brentwood, Essex, once again on Tuesday, after the incident delayed filming of the action flick by over seven weeks in order for the star to make a full recovery from his injuries.
He did not go easy on his first day back and was seen flying a helicopter and driving a large truck around the set, while surrounded by members of the crew.
Seeing the torsion was like a Vietnam flashback, I've broken mine three times (the first one when spiking a volleyball and losing balance mid-air, then when trying to hit a completely unnecessary smash in a stylish fashion, and the third one when a cocksucker from the Sunday league decided to go kamikaze on the ball mowing everything else that was there). It's so incredibly painful, and unlike Cybertom it took me weeks to even try to walk again
Note to self, never ever try to jump from roof to roof xD
