It may have been DbD ripping off this game or the other way around, not sure what was announced/produced first. Kinda weird to see this game beeing almost a reskin of the other one tho but i can´t tell what i was expecting. Aside from something good because of the iconic IP ofc

Friday the 13th: The Game is adding a single-player component to its previously announced asymmetric multiplayer gameplay. According to publisher Gun Media, the game's release will be delayed into Spring 2017 "to expand development and inclusion of AI bots, Tommy Jarvis as [a ]playable character and [the] inclusion of Packanack Lodge playable map."
The game's full multiplayer component will become available in early 2017 and include Tommy Jarvis as a playable character. Movie setting Packanack Lodge will also be included in this release as a third playable map. This initial release will be followed by the full Summer 2017 release of the single-player component, including AI Bots.
Players who pre-order the game in digital or physical form will receive the single player component at no additional charge. Prices for pre-orders after as of October 13 will be set at $40 USD digital, $60 USD retail.
I still remember watching someone stream it and they set a bear trap on the street where you are supposed to exit the mission and then they sat back and watched as someone thought they were going to escape and win and got stuck then Jason grabbed and killed them. I could just imaging that will happen a lot once this is in retail and hearing all the people complaining over voice chat when it does happen.
While the game is coming out on May 26th, the single player mode will not be available until summer 2017.
The official site’s FAQ page explains that originally the whole project was just going to focus on multiplayer. However, when the team at Gun Media were able to secure more funding and therefore work on a solo experience. The additional modes will come as an update in June, July, or August; the exact date has yet to be announced.
The single player experience will come in two forms. There will be a campaign that will allow players to experience the legacy of the franchise. Basically, “[These] objective-based missions [are] where you take control of Jason. You’ll get to see missions that will remind you of the movies, as well as entirely new scenarios to sink your machete into!”
You’ll also be able to play through multiplayer matches with bots filling in the roles of horror fodder, I mean, camp counselors. You will not need an online connection to jump on in but the devs are vague if the AI players can be added to multiplayed matches as well. And, for the moment, it seems like there won’t be a bot version of Jason out there for those who prefer to play as the hunted rather than the hunter.
The majority of the people in the chat talked about piracy and voxi version, but I don't know. The main thing is that it works great online, and you can level up.
From what I've seen, it's not really much fun, as Jason knows where everyone is all the time, and can teleport directly to each player, who has no chance of escape.
The death scenes are typically brutal... I must be getting old as I didn't really like them very much...
