Actually I had no idea what it was about before watching. Fincher and Sorkin were what drew me to see it. Smile

The original is very good and with Fincher on board its going to be even better. I just hope they continue with 2 and 3, because they where quite lacking (and was just made for tv).

Edit: Weird thing. I like it, my wife likes it, all our friends like it, my parents like it and even my in-laws sporting nearly seventy of age loves it!

Have you watched the TV versions of the second and third part? They are way better than the movie versions, not just longer but cut in a totally different way.

What TV versions ?, I never knew they existed. I watched the bluray rips and also thought the first film was much better than 2 and 3.

The first film was made for the cinema, but the second and third film were originally intended for TV.
The TV version consists of six TV-films with 90 minutes each. The first cinema film suffers a bit from the TV conversion because the break between the two parts is in an awkward place.
The latter two cinema films on the other hand profit from the additional time (they contain additional 80 minutes combined) they get in the TV version. They don't quite reach the same level as the first cinema film, but as a fan you should check them out nonetheless.

Crazy crazy. The DICE office building is the security office in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Kinda freaks me out.

The Hunt for Red October - 9/10
Patriot Games - 8/10
Clear and Present Danger - 8.5/10
The Sum of All Fears - 7/10 (Liev Schrieber and Morgan Freeman is the only reason for the 7, Ben Affleck could not handle it imo)

And thus concluded my viewings of the Jack Ryan films Smile

Sequel or rather mini-reboot talk: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/girl-dragon-tattoo-follow-up-835991

David Fincher is out.
Rooney Mara is out.
Daniel Craig is out.

Laughing

Source material fpr the 2nd movie will be "The Girl in the Spider's Web", the 4th and just released book in the series and the first that was not written by the author of the original trilogy (he died).
