the thing is, in dragon age i always play as a female, and in kotor i liked playing as a female after a playthrough with a male jedi, but in mass effect... never played as femshep the whole game, i tried, but hate the voice

I'm just playing through DAI for first time right now (I played a bit when first crack came out) and it's okay game. I can't really compare it to Witcher games for example or even DA:O, but it's still enjoyable. It can get overwhelming quickly if I start to take journal as form of checklist to complete.

I actually tried DAI recently. It was sort of playable for me, at a shit framerate but I didn't have to worry about that because after very little time playing it I got completely bored with it. It's not even bad, because I would have had a few laughs at it. It's just so average, so dull, full of uninteresting, annoying and ugly looking characters. It also plays like an MMO, so yeah...

One voice in one trailer doesn't mean it's canon. Male Shepard is on all the boxes so there probably is no real canon.

male shep is canon, because thats who has always been the primary face of the game. The dev could never turn around and suddenly claim that this isn't the case just because they added a female shep to the official artwork for the third game due to political correctness and gender pandering.
THAT SAID, my favourite shep was always my female one. I agree, hale totally nailed the role and is my preferred shep...

Me too, but during a playthrough of 3 I changed to see what the fuss was about and she was miles better.

well so far we have only heard the femshep voice, the face will probably be the maleshep one.
that way biowere can check off plenty PC boxes in one fell swoop by giving us the new and improved transshep.

I just hope that even if the game is set in a new galaxy, they keep using the ME alien races. If there's one thing i can't complain is the design of the different species, krogans, salarians, turians... They really did a fantastic job there.

The first footage of the game did show some Krogan, but I don't think it would fit for those races to be all over the place. It's supposed to be some grand deep space expedition, so it wouldn't make much sense if everyone's been holidaying there for years already. I suppose they could go with some story about ancient (obviously) civilization "seeding" same species in different galaxies and make it a revelation of sorts, but I feel they want to make a fresh start.
If it's going to be all new, I wonder how are they are going to handle a brand new civilization. The language, the economy... Can't imagine them spending a lot of game time on complexities of first contact.

Visuals are nice, performance was lousy, story was okay, combat was okay. Overall it was a fun action RPG spin-off to Dragon Age Origins but far too much filler content.
