I love that they're still using an Ink Spots track for the opening. People may decry Bethesda's overall writing ability, or the switch from cRPG to FPS-RPG, but they really do have a lot of love and reverence for the series, its style and its atmosphere

Is it me or is the VA for the male player character phoning it in?
I haven't heard enough of it to be sure and I'm ignoring all the big gameplay vids (just had to see the combat vid from last night) ... though I'll be rolling a Mrs Vault Dweller anyhow Jennifer Hale's FemShep was so much more awesome than Mark Meer's one.
@sabin1981
Yep, those things indeed are very well done in their games.
A shame they don't put the same amount of love in the graphical/animation department.
And Jennifer Hale is doing the voiceovers for the female wanderer?!
Damn, was planning to do a male character, but her voice acting is just too good to pass by.
No no.. sorry, didn't mean to confuse. I just meant I'm more interested in what the female Dweller sounds like because I roll female chars The bit about Hale was just talk -- the VA who does the female Dweller is actually the actress that played Jack in ME2/ME3

A Fallout version of "Evolve": 4 wastelanders trying to kill a mutant. The mutant starts as a small rat, becomes a bigger mutant, bigger, bigger, eventually becoming a giant deathclaw.
Or they could just keep focusing on the singleplayer mode, since that's what we enjoy.
So how do dialog checks work now with the sorely lacking mass effect system?
Will you know an option is going to be a dialog check or something?
It seems only Charisma affects dialogue options. You still can select the option, but depending on your skill the skill check might fail. It's said to be visible in orange or red coloring of the specific dialogue option.

Theres really no options, that I can see. Mostly you just choose to reply to something the npc's have said.
Much like a jrpg really. You can't do inquisitive stuff. Each npc, it's own topic.
Previous games allowed you to inquire about stuff, and then you sometimes discovered a quest or something to do.
Seems like the moment you talk with npc's in this one, you're supposed to act upon something.
Robert Altmans wife, Lynda Carter did some tracks for Fallout 4 as well. And apparently voice over for some npc's.
Lynda Carter did countless npc's in Oblivion and Skyrim as well.
Robert Altman is the CEO of Zenimax Media, the owner of Bethesda Softworks.
