What's in store for AW in the near future:
Spoiler: | SUMMARY
The focus for the near future will be on vehicle balance, new maps and vehicles, stability and performance
Upcoming features in near future are endgame (battalion mode), commander systems and upgrades to progression along with additional rewards
The matchmaker in the future will be updated to feature mechanisms improving the vehicle class balance (such as not letting too many vehicles of one class into one battle)
Multi-launcher Rocket Systems (MLRS) won't be added in near future
The developers are experimenting with maps of various sizes, the largest map currently is the 1400 x 1400 meters Reactor map, it's possible there will be even larger maps in the future
Currently no mode with more than 15 players per side is in development
Developers are working on the replay feature, it is however still far from being ready
It's possible player-created skins and decals will be introduced in the future, but so far there are no concrete plans
It will be possible to check other players' statistics outside of battle, but by default the statistics will be set to private
There will be a branch of Ukraine vehicles in the future
There are no plans to limit the amount of garage slots
It is possible that night maps (featuring night vision) will come in the future
There are no plans to remove the artillery warning from the game
Amphibious vehicles are planned, in near future the vehicles that can swim in real life will receive longer drown timer
The amount of reputation and credits required to unlock tier 9 and 10 will be "reasonable", so that even regular players can unlock those tiers with some effort
Tier 7 and 8 premium vehicles will be possibly added after the introduction of tier 9 and 10 regular vehicles
Power-wise, a premium vehicle is intended to be somewhere between stock and fully upgraded vehicle of the same tier
The developers are currently working on boss fight mechanism, it's possible players will get to fight helicopters in the future
The upcoming PvE features include: improvements to spawn mechanism, making the gameplay more varied, removing the issue where bots spawn on top of player vehicles
The shot delay issue is not experienced by every player and does not seem to be dependent on latency, developers are investigating
The light tanks used to have no accuracy decay while travelling at high speeds - this was problematic with some vehicles such as the Sheridan and will likely not return, but the developers are continuing to investigate this matter
In the future, the looks of the player base will be customizable as players continue to unlock new features
It is possible that in the future there will be special vehicles unlockable for difficult achievements
Custom battle mode (comparable to a "training room" mode) will be available soon, it will also support the observer feature
It is not sure the observer mode will be available in PvP/PvE battles
Voice chat will be possibly implemented for competitive game modes
The developers also unveiled some of the upcoming features of the Territory Wars mode, in which Battalions will fight each other over the control of special territories.
This mode will support battalions as well as individual players.
It is possible this mode will be connected to a storyline campaign and to some of the PvE missions
There are plans for a competitive ladder system
It is also possible that the players will be able to ally themselves with certain factions and unlock unique rewards by gaining reputation standing with these factions |

Cool. I'm really liking this game. Even stock tanks seem somewhat useful compared to WoT

I played WoT since it was pre-beta. While, it's not a bad game, it lacks that "charm" that Armored Warfare has. I wonder what will be Wargaming's response to this game.
Don't get me wrong, WoT is a really good fucking game. It helps if you have premium later on in higher tiers. Mainly Tier 7+

Bad choice, it seems. I also gave WoT a brief spin about 2 weeks ago, but didn't like it due to it being overly p2w-focused.
AW seems much more fun overall, plus you really don't have to buy anything in order to avoid getting pawned. The grind isn't so bad, either. It's main setback is that more often than not, it keeps me awake and playing until 3 a.m., meaning I'm completely wasted during the day...

WoT is not P2W... |
There are premium tanks with good armor and bad penetration. So you get one of those and shoot gold ammo, big advantage, especially in lower tiers. You can bash noobs all day long actually. There are tier restrictions specific to premium tanks, too.
Generally with premium tanks and premium account you make a lot of credits and can shoot premium ammo pretty much all the time.
When you can use money to get an advantage in tanks, ammo use and consumables ... it's P2W.

anybody can shoot premium ammo and consumables, as they are available for credits - no pay
3/4 of premium tanks have 50-100 armor and 175penetration in tier6-8... you can get raped at any time by anyone who knows what they're doing in an elite tank in the same battle you're in, irregardless of their tier
I know because I've played almost all tanks from stock to elite - I have 360 tanks in my garage, and I've raped multiple premium stat padder platoons, and I've died in the first 2 minutes of the battle - plenty of times too

If you spam prem shells, you definitely won't be making any money in WOT, at best you will break even if you are as good as I am.
On "normal" gameplay, especially on my M46 Patton, I pretty much average +/-0 for a day if I only play that tank, usually maybe +5k net at max.
I also use double repair kits on every tank I play and don't carry a fire extuinguisher.
Having prem shells is sort of p2w but not really because you can buy them for credits.
But if you compare it to AW, then it kinda really is even though it isn't.. >.<
In WOT premium tanks are much worse than in AW. And spamming prem shells, again, on those, you won't be making more than a regular person makes in his average game.
Most of them have HEAT as prem rounds which is just not very good, even if it does have penetration. And rest have low damage APCR rounds usually (or low pen), which are not good at all if you look at it from making-money point of view, which the prem tanks are all about.
TL;DR AW > WOT.
Everyone should play AW!

if you spam prem shells in WoT you aren't very skilled, 95% of the time I fire regular shells, it's harder and requires skill yes
once you learn all tanks weak spots and with what guns you can shoot them - prem shells aren't very necessary
and in random battles I load 75%/25% normal to prem ammo and use regular repair+aid and a premium extinguisher - no need to use all prem cons..
edit: and yes I play AW, have all tier4s, tier6 artys and challenger tier7 MBT

that's hard mode on open...ish maps though, i assume? haven't gotten that far yet, but so far a fair number of pve matches on the "harder" maps with arty end up in a close finish or fai, no matter how hard i try to carry. it's simply -1 tank

OF-40 is meh, 1A5 is ok~ish, 2AV is where it starts to really shine.
Pretty much all Tier 5 tanks are pretty bad right now.

Oh, I haven't tried the T-72 yet, thought it was a great tank (it is, on paper). Also thought it too was affected by the armour bug.
So, what's your recommendation for tier 5- 8 MBTs? In terms of both survivability and firepower. I guess T5 would be the Chieftain, right? A pity there's no T6 WE tank, otherwise I'd have bought that one.

Play anything you find the most fun, the lines don't really start before Tier 6 on any of them I guess.
The 'murica tier 5 is propably the best T5 MBT right now and only one that really works good.
I skipped the T-72, played T-72A for most part and upto T-80 right now.
