Vai, I'm afraid you'll have to postpone your back to home trip. More cruisers are coming. According to our ministry of tourism, the whole September is booked ! Very Happy

Nah, you wouldn't have. The fuck deserved a lot worse. For 3 years we've been begging for a new PC and when it finally arrived(ridiculously underpowered for what we need it for) the asshole repeatedly ignored our request for help getting it online, forcing us to continue working on the only PC left in the office which is so old you can see Fred fucking Flintstone driving his car in the case as the Cpu.
None of which would have been a problem if he hadn't been so smug and condescending all the time. Not to mention the badmouthing he did for the last three months just because I had the temerity to be politely persistent in asking for something. He deserved getting his teeth knocked out.
I think I acted in moderation given the circumstances.

The upside to all this, my boss got an email a few hours ago from the CEO of Zaton telling him that not one, but three brand new mid range PCs will be in the office by the end of the week.
Also, I checked payroll before leaving work, I'm still on the list for the monthly performance bonus for August due in a few days.

And the early release is symbolic more than anything because I'd have quit 4 days later anyway. Big whoop.

None of this would have happened if my boss and I hadn't been reprimanded for being late with designing and printing some stupid posters about a stupid gimmick in which the guests can ride a bike for a few minutes to get free coffee. Save the planet type nonsense.
We've been working our asses off the entire summer without adequate equipment and the company had the gall to complain a SINGLE task wasn't completed in time.

Made me blow my gasket.
Back home in a week in front of my PC where my ass belongs

/end rant

Well that cutting wire thing was going too far (not moderation at all ).
Would get you fired in most places, so be glad it's just an early return.

No matter how much of an arse someone is, learn to not take it too far. In the end you're responsible for what you do and reasons like that won't bail you out.

Hopefully next summer will go better! Smile

I'm not complaining, hell I was 100% sure I'd get fired. It just goes to show how the general opinion of the IT guy is in the company when after a stunt like that all I get is a slap on the wrist and see you next year.
Oh, and I'll have to buy a new cable xD

I'm coming home tomorrow
setting the world on mute.
Finally on a quest again
to find that treasured loot.
