Thread derailed, but isn't it like here in UK? Don't they shut down by court the access to the torrent sites?

shut down access to free internet sites? cmon, were are not the ddr!

but yes public torrents in germany -> law suit incoming. private trackers shouldnt be a problem. or be a dick an use modified clients that fake the upload (but wouldnt do that on public trackers too). your ip appearing there is enough to get a letter. though i think you only get fucked for music (cause they are greedy bastards) and porn (cause they think you simple pay it before arguying with your wifey about that)

I recently received a Cease & Desist warning from Waldorf Frommer (A large 13 page document, in a big A4 envelope..this could all be done, to look imposing and serious, or it really could be imposing and serious), for supposedly download 'The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug'. In doing so they are saying I need to pay them 815€ (Money I don't have, being poor and all that Sad ), to be paid at the latest on the 4th of December, 2014.

During the christmas break (2014) I went to visit my cousin and my uncle in Germany. [...]
JUST a month later (now), my uncle from Germany has received a letter from a lawyer.
It said that he has to pay for the illegal movies we were watching via Popcorn time.
Each illegal movie costs about €854.- !!!!!! FOR WHAT? For watching Popcorn time ONLINE.

I think we watched like 5 movies during the break, so it's around the €4200,-

I am living in Germany for 5 months now and like many others have been totally unaware of the strict downloading regulations up until now. I was living in a house with 2 other housemates, of which one was the owner of the internet contract. [...]
After having admitted that I downloaded the episodes she then tells me she received a letter from Waldorf Frommer claiming 815 euro's.

I recently moved to Germany from New Zealand to live with my girlfriend. I wasn't aware of how strict the laws are on torrenting here - no one ever gets charged in New Zealand.

I had been watching movies with my girlfriend using PopcornTime and got a notice yesterday from Waldorf Frommer asking for 815€.

One thing is for sure, I owe them so much money that I would be a homeless gigolo by now xD

I didn't know that either..really sucks. Suddenly our second world places don't look that bad from a buccaneerish standpoint. Razz We may have shit vessels (connections), but at least we can roam free!

Wow, I didn't know it is that bad in Germany. Imo it's better they deny access to that sites by court orders. At least that way you're somewhat "protected". Especially students and people that come from other countries.

lol thank god it isn't, in Hungary (and couple other countries AFAIK) they put an extra tax on devices with background storage in exchange for ignoring possible copyright infringements

which is a bit orwellian/minority report shit but still better than paying a smaller fortune for watching a crappy movie

We pay that fee too Laughing That is just to pay for private copies. If you use a torrent, because of the nature of the protocol, you automatically share the movie.

sharing only isnt the point, yes in most cases only people who upload stuff too instead of only downloading get fucked. but remember sites like oehm forgot its name, something like bockwurst? people got fucked there too who just downloaded stuff. ofc in cases of uploaded or whatever it doenst matter cause they dont get the ips from them

Nice update as per usual for this game. Loving finland.
The only problems I have with dirt rally are the weak ass co driver calls. Some of them are missing vital information or just aren't accurate. Quality of calls seems all over the joint really.
The other problem is the lack of courses. We only have 2 or 3 stages per country (the other's are cut and paste sections of those). I haven't put that many hours into it really and already have some sections memorized. Rally gets pretty boring when you know the corners, it's not like track racing at all in that regard. Hope modded tracks become a reality.

Yes it's the best. You either play this or RBR. There's no alternative.

damn, finally got to play after snagging the game for 15 bucks from GMG russia.

Set up a random custom event, finland, rain, a dozen restarts later and 15th place (out of 16 )achieved on highest AI setting Laughing Me Gusta

it's gonna be good learning the game and getting better and better, I love that in rally games.

graphics are nice, so are the sound effects. game runs great. 2x DSR+4xMSAA, all settings maxed, and constant 60 fps on a gtx970.

game is playable on a 360 pad with no issue and no tweaking needed.

sleep UI, nice loading times, ton of customization in every department. great game even for EA.

+100XP for choosing the epic Lancia Fulvia over the Mini Very Happy

I don't envy the poor upcoming WRC5 and Loeb Rally that will have to face this game, they both look like they're the NFS counterparts of the discipline with them huge roads and adamantium suspensions. Laughing
The new Finland stages look sexy as hell, but I think I'll reinstall everything once the snowy Sweden stages will be released (soon!) Razz

In Portugal we pay that tax too, like saying that any-whom buys a blank CD, DVD, DISK, PEN etc, is labelled automatically a pirate Facepalm But we (still) can pirate more or less unmolested... BUT HEY, we are paid 8 times less than in Germany for the same exact job, and the greedy commercials/bills charge about the same for the goods/commodities, meaning that earning 8 times less you pay almost same for a meal like anyone in germany Surprised Shocked..so.. its kind of "fair" that we can yarr.
