What is DSR/DSRip? Is it Digital Satellite Rip or Digital Stream Rip?
And then, what's the different between PDTV and DSR? Is DSR used instead of PDTV or what?
this should actually be in the n00bs area in my opinion but i ll answer anyways
i think its both kinda the same as both are rips from digital sources. Those can be done with DVB-TV-Cards and the digital streams can be broadcasted either via cable (DVB-C), terrestrial (DVB-T) or satellite (DVB-S), so calling it digital STREAM rip would be the best way to clarify that.
I always thought that pdtv stands for pirated digital tv, so that would be only satelite rips, but i m not sure of that as a google-search revealed sites that called it pure digital tv. But that could be bollocks still... ...especially since the first pdtv rips where pirated from the networks satelites when they copied tv-series over from one side of the continent to the other, sometimes released days ahead of the tv-schedule. Nowadays those copy-links seem to be encoded to well, so pirating the signal isnt really an option anymore afaik
