If something works, I've got no problems with it becoming a trend
They used the same nuXCOM-y formula + fixed 2AP in Halfway too. As usual you can spend those two action points on reloading, activating special powers, throwing grenades, moving, shooting, healing and switching inventory also, which is simplistic (it's inevitable) but doesn't make the game too streamlined really.
could be still fun
The nightmare/demonesque wild west setting is knows since the original kickstarter, so mot a big deal for me
but i am more worried about performance and this part of steampage :-/
Quote:
Fight and survive through 8 unique story-based scenarios, and try your hand at more than 40 individually designed turn-based combat missions. "
Sounds kinda weirdsince they were talking about world map exploration in kickstarter
well tried to read on it more - from what i understood its 8 world maps (kinda like HoMM) and 40 battlemaps/missions (kinda like XCOM)
but who knows , thats just my guess from what they have on KS and steam
There will be no forgiveness. Consumed by tragedy, one man will walk a treacherous path of chaos and revenge to punish those who wronged him.
A Turn-Based tactical western of six-shooters and the supernatural, Hard West is coming to PC (Windows/Mac/Linux) on November 4th.
Hard West is currently available to pre-order for $19.99 (USD). The newly announced Collector's Edition can also be pre-ordered for $24.99, and includes the original soundtrack, art book, and comic book for download.
Follow Warren on his descent into the darkest recesses of the human soul, and try to survive in a world full of hard choices and even harder consequences. In this world, death is a constant presence and the black pacts you make will forever haunt all those around you.
Fight your way through 40 missions of henchmen, cultists, and cannibals in your quest for vengeance. Uncover the plans of the ancient powers at play and make difficult choices that resonate throughout your journey. Collect and combine poker cards to craft special abilities, and arm yourself with an eclectic collection of firearms including outlandish prototypes of the era.
The 8 chapters contain 40 missions (so 5 per, on average). The world map is a way of traveling between missions but it also allows for optional exploration, choices, barter, upgrading weapons ect. Some choices are story-related but they may also have a significant impact on combat, for example starting the same mission either in Setup mode (out of combat) or directly in battle.
Hard West will now be coming to PC (Win/Mac/Linux) on November 18th.
"Less good," but not disastrous, because it's actually a rather short delay of just two weeks. "Creating a game is an ever-shifting process in which one change can lead to another. Although we recently announced a release date, a few last-minute changes revealed some excellent opportunities for improvements," Lead Designer Kacper Szymczak explained. "While it would be easy to patch in little details, we all know how we feel about such moves. When the game releases, it should be as good as it can be."
To make up for the wait, Gambitious has released a pair of new videos, one of which makes the perfectly reasonable assumption that two weeks is a whole lot better than eternal damnation, which I guess would have been the punishment for releasing the game before it was ready. The second, featuring nine minutes of gameplay taken from the Asylum mission, is playing below.
i dont like the graphics, brown everywhere but seems they got rid of the low fps that ive seen in all the other videos, now it has only some stutter when they turn the camera
