|
 |
Long time ago for various people that asked I directed them to the old p2p music sharing app Ares, in its day it was good and truly open source and yet I have noticed when checking today as someone asked if they could use it again after wiping pc that the client is packed with shitty adware etc. I would not advise the use of that to anyone ever again.
What has happened of late it seems most p2p music share etc is now all latin american/spanish spammed fucked up clients lol.
I am not a big music person/collector or need to have type, but looking around it seems there is nothing as simple as Ares used to be in the past when searching for mp3's. I guess now its just the usual torrent sites and having to que individually what you can find.
I told them try buying the music instead it be a ton easier and safe lol.
I'm guessing the industry has made an impact over last few years. Apart from the areas where people don't give a shit whats on their pc.

Why not? I am not a big share type but looking around I got the impression regarding music it seemed thin on the ground regarding various other good applications.
If thats not the case through the likes of pirate bay or the demonoid account I have then I will have to just point people that ask to just look and use those tools instead, I do not really want to explain it to them though again... I know they will be all like oh but before I could find everything much simpler now I goto be more selective and use this web browser blah blah. I can see it now lol.
They just want people to click fingers and they can have is easy as before, women and their music I will never get it and really don't want to.
People are crazy with what they grab, I see a clusterfuck of laptops at the door again soon with slowdown reports and toolbars etc.

I found those old p2p programs much more annoying than torrents. So much crap, no idea what was going to work or not.
But yeah, its a bit more complicated I guess. Especially since you want to know good trackers.

Yer I will get them around and show them how to use a torrent client and how to get what they want. I should just stop doing this shit it becomes old after a while, and saps a fair bit of time from doing other more important things. But hey when they consistently fuck up their laptops they pay me to sort it out
Best not bite off the hand that gives sidecash lol.

slsk (Soulseek) is still going strong moose. It's the only client I'd recommend to anyone.
Still... I just keep to private torrent sites for quality (wcd). That being said, I don't download music as much any more I just use spotify for that. quality is good enough for my cheap kitchen radio when I do the dishes xD

yer I am the same I pick a song if I really like it and listen to it now and again but do it while sitting at pc doing other things, I rarely if at all listen to music on my phone or anything else.
I am still stuck in the 80's music vibe along with the 50 and 60's stuff, not much of that about now or rather new in the same style. I don't get all this other shit of today
Don't know anything about soulseek will have to see what that is. But as you say torrent sites will be fine I guess for these ladies
