Me neither. This must be a clever plot to get us to buy it, despite its poor reviews Laughing

http://www.neocoregames.com/2015/07/questions-and-answers-about-van-helsing-final-cut/
Quote:
Q: I only have one or two titles from the trilogy. If I buy the third after Final Cut was released, am I eligible for a free copy?
A: Anyone who owns all three games will receive Final Cut automatically on the release date. Your case is a little bit more complicated, but we’re working with Steam to find a solution. The safest way to ensure your free copy of Final Cut is to buy the missing title in advance, but we won’t pressure anyone to do so. One way or another, we’ll try to make it work.

Q: What are the playable classes?
A: You can choose the six classes introduced in the third game (Umbralist, Phlogistoneer, Elementalist, Protector, Constructor, Bounty Hunter). They’ll have more streamlined, refined skill tree to suit the raised level cap.

Q: Can I import my character from the original trilogy (any of the titles), or do I have to start a new character?
A: We will rewrite the entire save system for Final Cut because if we store campaign progress, endgame progress, character progress, etc. separately, it will be much cooler, smoother and more awesome for both the game and for us, too. Therefore, solely for importing old characters, we shall implement a “legacy save” system that can handle save games from old Van Helsing games.

However, there are a few reasons that will not allow to import certain things:
    1. Obviously, the first two games have classes that do not exist in the 6-class system of Final Cut. This is why we will give other bonuses to players who choose to import their characters.
    2. The stat system will be completely reworked in Final Cut, so these cannot be imported.
    3. The endgame resources and leveling will be reworked as well.

So, to conclude: Yes, the there will be some sort of import system. You will be able to choose your old characters from any title of the trilogy. The name will be imported and endgame resources will be gifted to you. These are actually very hard to get in Final Cut, so old players will be definitely ahead of new ones.

Q: What about the skills and tricks?
A: The skill tree will be reworked and expanded, some of the best tricks will be implemented into the skill tree.

Q: What’s the level cap?
A: You can reach level 80 if you play through the campaign and various other single player modes. There will be other game modes where your character can reach level 100. Also, there will be a Glory system in a massive endgame content that will allow your character to evolve further, collecting rare items and rare endgame currency (Dreamshards). Katarina will have approximately the same leveling pace and cap as your main character’s.

Q: So, it’s called “Final Cut”. What exactly will you cut?
A: The game is huge, it will contain no less than the entire terrain of all three games. In order to make this long journey more enjoyable, some of the minor quest and missions will be removed or replaced with more diverse, rewarding quests. The Neverending Story will be replaced with reworked Scenarios. Not to worry: we’ll only cut if we feel that it improves the pace and the quality of the game, and the final product will not be shorter because of this. On the contrary, it’s more than the sum of its parts.

Q: What’s “more”?
There will be brutal endgame. Daily Quests, Weekly events, Scenarios (loads of new ones), Challenges, new game modes, endgame currency, so much stuff … This will be a really huge thing. 11 “invisible” difficulty levels that you can progress within, using a 5-level visible difficulty system, similar to Monster Power in Diablo games. The Neverending story will be gone, instead, there will be fully different, reworked scenarios, and the Arena mode, where you can fight stronger and stronger enemies on campaign maps. New Scenario types will include Purification, Chicken Gauntlet, Boss Hunt, Caravan, and so on. The “Endgame” will also be available from the start.

honestly I am not sure right now if I should delete all 3 games from trilogy and wait for FC or keep both

I like that they're "trying to make it work" for those of us with only 2 of the 3 games, perhaps a 70% discount?

Depends how it will be priced? If current Episode III costs $15 and entire trilogy will be priced at let's say $60? That's gonna cost more.

Or I just cannot into math today.

It's not going to be $60 though, as Prudislav posted, why would it be? The three episodes individually are $15 each so that's $45 for the full collection.. and $45 is what they're charging for the "Complete" trilogy.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Free for trilogy owners. I can be down with that I guess. I enjoyed the gameplay so I think I wouldn't mind it again in this "updated" version.

Announcing this just before the original tentative date might be a little bit frustrating. Not only for you guys, for us as well.

There’s no way around it, although there is an explanation. And a silver lining.

VHFC_Line3

First, on the issue of availability and accessibility. As you may remember, we have announced that the games were released on GoG.com. And now the question arises:

“If I buy two games on GoG and the third on Steam, will I get Final Cut?”

We haven’t answered officially yet, but here at the studio we were like: “What a question! Of course! It’s yours! We’re happy if you buy the trilogy, however you like it! You deserve the Final Cut, you deserve our thanks!”

We wanted to say that. And we still want to.

Now we can confirm that we can make it happen. Yes indeed. But this means a little more testing. A little more work.

We’d rather push the release date than to create an atmosphere of uncertainty, or a situation where some players can access the game and some players can’t. That’s just unacceptable, especially with the endgame content we created. It needs to be available to everyone at the same time. We want the best release in the history of the franchise. We want everyone to be happy with the product.

Another question was asked very frequently, and we haven’t given any straighforward answers:

“Will I get Final Cut even if I buy the last missing game after its release?”

To that we say: you can bet your sorry hat! You will get Final Cut if you own the trilogy! No. Matter. What.

But again: we need more time to make this happen. We’d rather work more on the solution than to let down a portion of our fans.

And of course, with this added time, the game would also benefit from a little more testing. It’s done, it’s finished, but let’s be honest: this is the definitive edition of our most accomplished game to date. We should release at its finest, and be extra careful with it. And we will be. We’re testing it like there’s no tomorrow. (Well, we just annihilated tomorrow, didn’t we?)

This concludes our bittersweet announcement. We would like to ask for a bit of understanding and patience.

But if you look at our reasons, you’ll see. It will be worth it.

Unfortunate with a delay but it seems to be for the right reasons which will be beneficial to a lot of users when it's released. Smile
(Or even after it's released if you have two of the games and buy the third when it's discounted and are given access to this too.)

Can't have been the easiest to negotiate a GOG/Steam cross ownership deal like that for them either but they did it somehow.
(Well it's not cross-platform like XBO/PS4 at least, ha ha.)

Delayed again: http://steamcommunity.com/games/400170/announcements/detail/80294997017497788
Quote:
The release date for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut is delayed from original tentative date of October 7.

There are, again, good reasons for this.

Before the release of the game, we feel like it should have a short period of a Closed Beta to make sure that every feature is working correctly on the user's end, on multiple hardwares. This is what we can't test on our own, and for a solid release, we deemed it necessary.

So in a way, you can still play it, if you are willing to forgive the unfortunate timing yet again.

Should have thought about a beta test a bit earlier than some eight or so hours before it was meant to be released but more testing will hopefully help make the game even better upon release although I do still expect there to be a couple of patches as other issues are discovered or additional features get requested.
