I just noticed when opening an incognito tab, it says:
Going incognito doesn’t hide your browsing from your employer, your internet service provider, or the websites you visit.
I wonder is there maybe an extension or script that can provide real incognito browsing? And is able to hide browsing from your employer, visited websites and your ISP (and government)?

Then you would want to access the net via tor. I dont know if there is some easy extension for chrome, that helps with that.

I have a question. Connecting to a site using SSL protects ALL data traffic from man in the middle attacks, the only thing that is revealed is the DNS queries and IP connections, right? So the man in the middle knows the domain you're connecting to and that you're using SSL, correct?
So it seems to me, the only way to fully protect the surfing privacy is to use a proxy.
